The English Conversation Partners Program is administered by FSU's Center for Global Engagement and counts as a sustained experience for the GCC if you participate as a facilitator. Facilitators help all levels of speakers of English as a second/other language to meet in a relaxed atmosphere to practice conversational English.

This experience would require two semesters of participation to fulfill the sustained experience requirement. Each semester, GCC students would work with two students. Conversation Partners meet each other for at least one hour a week to converse only in English. Weekly meetings can include getting coffee or lunch together on campus, attending events such as FSU sports games, going to a farmers market, or even bringing them along with you and your friends for a fun activity! The ECPP is a great way to make international friends and promote cultural exchange, and they are always looking for globally-minded students to join.

To apply visit the following link: https://bit.ly/47n7AMA

*You must reapply to the ECPP each semester.*

Dr. Bryant Harden, Program Director of the Global Citizenship Certificate (GCC) and Instructional Specialist in the Center for Global Engagement, attended the Central and East European International Studies Association (CEEISA) and the International Studies Association (ISA) joint International Conference in Rijeka, Croatia from June 18 - 21. This year's conference theme - Knowing the Global-Local: Imagining Pasts, Debating Futures - seeks to unpack the politics of knowledge and policy processes in the making of the global-local. As a starting point, the conference understands that the politics of knowledge production shapes how we make sense of world politics and our scholarly practices. At the conference, Dr. Harden presented his paper "Undermining the Mission: An Interpretive Analysis of Counter-Conduct in the United States Peace Corps" and engaged with scholars from around the world during panel presentations and other conference events.

CEEISA's main aims are to enable meetings and exchange of research results of researchers from Central and Eastern Europe and to enhance cooperation within the region to secure a more tangible IR output to the global scientific community. Among others, it also encourages cooperation with other regional institutions and promotes networking between Central and East European scholars with their West European and American colleagues.
