A great day spent with Trout Unlimited head of Government Affairs, Steve Moyer today visiting the Yakima Basin looking at Yakima Basin Integrated Plan , Kittitas Reclamation District, Yakama Nation Fisheries and TU projects. So much to showcase on how the Yakima basin is looking to build resiliency for the future. Added bonus was joining Patty Murray in Kittitas to talk about how programs and funding can ensure increased forest health throughout Central Washington, provide education to those living in fire prone areas on making their properties firewise and making sure there is increased support for those who are protecting us fighting forest fires Many thanks to Urban Eberhart for such a great day. Huge thanks to Washington Department of Ecology, Bureau of Reclamation National Fish and Wildlife Foundation USFWS Columbia Pacific Northwest Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office for your financial support on our projects.

Hey beaver project supporters, we have a big favor to ask! The beaver project is in need of a field truck to help haul our stream restoration tools, beavers and summer field crew. There’s only one Smith River! The Meagher Montana district court just agreed with our argument that DEQ did not adequately consider risks to the Smith when awarding a mining permit. A win for trout and lovers of wild and clean rivers everywhere. Thank you to everyone who donated time and money, wrote letters, made phone calls and organized friends and neighbors to protect this special place. We could not have done it without each of you!
Happy Beaver Day
