Mayor Mike Poirier appoints Captain Edgar Reinfeld as the City of Wenatchee’s Chief of Police. The Mayor’s appointment is scheduled to be confirmed by the City Council on July 11, 2024.

“I am excited and proud to recognize Captain Reinfeld for his exceptional law enforcement career with Wenatchee through this appointment. Congratulations Chief Reinfeld, you’ve absolutely earned it,” said Mayor Mike Poirier.

Captain Reinfeld has been with the Wenatchee Police Department for over 22 years, serving in progressively responsible roles. During his tenure as Captain, he alternated oversight of the operations and administrative bureaus. His other notable accomplishments include pioneering a regional mental health field response team and creating processes and documentation to setup the regional Recovery Navigator Program in conjunction with CAFÉ to assist those with substance use disorders in the community; managing the replacement of WPD’s legacy policy manual with a centrally managed Lexipol policy system and driving the prestigious Washington Association of Sherriff’s and Police Chief’s accreditation and re-accreditation processes. Captain Reinfeld holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and attended the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission and FBI NW Command College and earned several leadership certifications. Captain Reinfeld is also a 30-year veteran of the United States Air Force Reserve, currently serving as Chief Master Sergeant.

We had an incredible time at Business After Hours hosted by the Residence Inn! Incredible food crafted by their on site chef and desert that was served on their back patio with gorgeous skies and live music. When we first entered the hotel their were art pieces that are hand painted by one of their own maintenance staff on display. If you missed it then you missed out. Join us next month at the Wenatchee Valley Dispute Resolution Center on August 22nd.
