The student services team is mixed of certified staff who support our students in all buildings through different learning opportunities. They recently gathered to meet their new team members and talk about some new goals for the year. It's always a fun time for this team to learn from and support each other.

Kicking off the first day of high school with energy and fun! Our teachers are bringing the excitement and showing students the best way to start the year: with positivity, connection, and smiles! When teachers have fun, it sets the tone for a vibrant, engaging learning environment. Let’s make this the best year yet!

Our elementary buses were on time for the dismissal today!

Not even tree-blocked roads could get in our way! We just backed it up and kept on moving! Thanks to the amazing skills of Bus #1 driver, Sarah.

Our teachers spent the day collaborating with their teams and learning about engagement structures. We’re ready for a fantastic day tomorrow and can’t wait to see our CUSD 201 students!

IMPORTANT: The registration links will be unavailable from 7:00 AM on Thursday, August 8, through the end of the day on Friday, August 9, due to an upgrade to the Skyward system. If you are unable to register your child by the end of the day today, all systems will be back online by Saturday, August 10.

If you need assistance, please call your child's school. Regardless of the Skyward system outage, school secretaries will be available on Thursday and Friday to help with residency paperwork.

We are offering assistance with Skyward registration at South School, located at 133 S Grant Street, Westmont, IL. If you need help with registration, especially with password resetting, please visit us on Monday, August 5th. There will be Chromebooks available for you to use.

We will also have staff members fluent in Spanish, Ukrainian, and Russian available to provide support.

Before and After School Care Program at Manning

The Westmont Park District has partnered with CUSD 201 to offer an
all-new Before and After School Care program to be hosted at Manning
School.
For those Early Birds, you may drop your child(ren) off at Manning
School starting at 6:45 am, and Miller Kids will be transported to
Miller by bus at 7:45 am. We are only offering a 5 days per week
option for the Before School Care due to the low cost of the program.
For After School Care, Miller kids will be transported to Manning
immediately following dismissal.
Children in the Westmont Kids Club program may picked up from Manning
any time before 6:00 pm. We are offering a 5 days per week option, a
Tuesday/Thursday option, and a Monday/Wednesday/Friday option for
After School Care. Participants will play board and table games,
complete crafts, have gym time to play group games, and
we will go outside when the weather is nice and use the park and
playground. Homework is always a priority and our staff will be more
than happy to help out. Some special activities we plan are our
Halloween Party, Holiday Party, and our End of the Year Party, where
we serve food and play games.
This program follows the school calendars of District 201. The fees
include “PLC Days” and “SIP Days”, but not “No School
Attendance Days”. All children interested in attending from Manning
and Miller Schools are invited to register today!

OUTSTANDING FEES MUST BE PAID PRIOR TO REGISTRATION. Payments may be

Residency must be verified for first-time enrolling students and for
families who currently rent, change address, have an affidavit, or are
contacted by Community Unit School District 201 directly. Families who
have multiple students and are providing proof of residency only need
to present documentation at one building.
Appointments are required to prove residency and may be arranged by
contacting your building secretary.
We want to extend our sincere thanks to the community for your ongoing

Dear community members,

Community Unit School District 201 is one of the most special and unique districts in the region.

Our students benefit from the individual attention, personal relationships, and community connections only possible in small, community-based school districts while gaining access to consistent instruction and increased opportunities only possible in unit districts.

As a result, our schools outperform most schools in the state and have earned among the highest ratings. Westmont High School has been designated as exemplary while Manning, Miller, and Westmont Junior High were all designated as commendable for the second year in a row. Our high school has won the DuFour Award as best Professional Learning Community in the country. In addition, Westmont High School was awarded the Blue Ribbon, which is given to schools with an unwavering commitment to helping students achieve at high levels.

However, that high achievement is at risk. While our teachers, students, and staff make the most of what we have, our facilities are aging and creating potential safety hazards. Our four schools are between 44 and 94 years old with leaking roofs, extreme temperature swings due to failing HVAC systems, and crumbling parking lots. Most classrooms have been frozen in time since the 1960s, severely limiting our curriculum and holding our students back.

Our kids deserve better. That’s why our community is working together on a plan to improve our facilities. We will be updating the district’s strategic plan in a fully transparent and collaborative process, developing a community-driven plan for the future of our schools.

This week, we are kicking off our formal community engagement efforts that will be conducted this year to develop a plan for the future of our schools that is driven by the community.

Last night's Acting Out! WHS Drama Club hosted a field trip to see the musical Six SIX on Broadway at the Nederlander Theater in downtown Chicago. It was a great way to cap off a terrific Westmont drama season and give our Seniors one last curtain call! We can't wait for next year!
