Happy Monday Lancers! Remote learning can be tough, so we have put together a few tips for you to succeed as we begin this semester.
🌟Do one thing at a time.
Putting your best efforts into each assignment or task that you have ensures productivity.
🌟 Take notes for each class.
Even though we aren’t necessarily taking a backpack to zoom meetings, it is important to have a designated notebook for each class.
🌟Take a break.
Staring at your screen for hours on end can lead to procrastinating and an inability to focus. Remember to put your mental health first and take breaks for whatever suits your needs!
🌟Keep your routine.
Routines help maintain stability and ensure that your day is productive. Write to-do lists so that you don’t feel overwhelmed by virtual assignments.
🌟Be proud of your achievements.
Give yourself credit for working hard! A check mark on your agenda is a big win!

Today’s is Megan Harding, our social media marketing intern. Megan is a new member of our career services team who will be the face behind all of our social media posts! 🎉

Outside of keeping up with our socials and creating our graphic designs - Megan enjoys shopping, traveling and baking. 🛍✈️🍪

Megan is a junior who is majoring in Communication with a concentration in public relations and advertisement and a minor in writing. She is also a tour guide and writing consultant on campus. Megan looks forward to being a member of the career services team, gaining knowledge in the marketing field, and hopes to connect with students through our social media accounts. 🌟

Caitlin is a graduate student studying Occupational Therapy at WSU. When beginning the master's portion of her program, she worked in a graduate assistant position with Career Services. Caitlin says the experience was life-changing. The Career Services team helped her further develop skills in public speaking, resume and cover letter writing, and job searching.

Caitlin encourages students to not be afraid to explore their options before deciding on a career path and recommends that all students visit Career Services for help on their career journey.

Career Services offers a "What Can I Do With this Major" resource that allows students to learn more about what career paths typically connect with each major. Students can use this website as often as they'd like, whenever they'd like.

Today's is Jillian Anderson, our Director of Career Services. Outside of overseeing the Career Services team and guiding students on their career paths, Jillian enjoys crafting and sewing 🎨

In her time as a college student, Jillian visited Career Services and describes the experience as life-changing. Two tips she has for students are to visit Career Services early in order to receive guidance through all four undergraduate years and to always ask questions, in class and your career.

Stephen is a nursing major and with some guidance from Career Services, became a Residential Assistant on campus. During his work-study with Career Services he received help with his resume and cover letter helping him land the on-campus job opportunity. One piece of advice that Stephen would give to fellow students would be to not hesitate going to Career Services. “They can give you ideas, plenty of resources, and it will only benefit you in the long run”.
