Can you BURN the most calories in April?

Feel the heat with the calorie burn challenge ladies!! ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿ’ช

From April 10th until April 30th your challenge is to get active again and melt away those winter calories. Your curves workout is the best way to burn those calories. Strength Training at least 3 times per week, managing your calorie intake and regulating your sleep will give you the best chance of building lean muscle. For every kilo of lean muscle in your body, you increase your metabolism by about 6% meaning you burn more calories even at rest.

Here are some sustainable tips for exercising during Ramadan ladies:

1. Find a time that works for you.
2. Aim to maintain.
3. Double down on hydration between iftar and suhoor/sehri.
4. Watch out for warning signs of dehydration (e.g. dizziness, fatigue, nausea).
5. Don't be afraid to scale back the intensity.
6. Focus on Strength Training.
7. It's fine to increase how many rest days you are taking.
8. Go for high-fibre and protein rich foods when you break your fast.

Every woman who attends our Curves Clubs is unique in her own way, mothers, sisters, carers. We see you working hard for you and those around you every single day. Today we want to celebrate and support those women who care for and stand by Down Syndrome because each one of you is a star.

Down syndrome is not a disease. Individuals with Down Syndrome are working members of our society that in simple words, โ€˜have an extra chromosomeโ€™, which makes them โ€˜EXTRAโ€™ fabulous in every way.

At Curves, World Down Syndrome Day is a cause very close to our own hearts which is why we want to share with you a testimony from one of our members and words from our Operations Director, whose granddaughter has Down Syndrome.
