It is our aim to enable you to move beautifully inside as well as outside of the Pilates studio.

Pilates helps you become more aware of your body and to appreciate what your body can do.
In a Pilates session you spend an hour focused on paying attention to your body and exploring your own strength. This builds confidence.

Pilates is an excellent choice of complimentary training for runners. It is low impact while strengthening the very crucial core stabilising muscles and helping maintain good biomechanics when faced with fatigue.

Meet River our resident cat. He specialises in catching mice, stealing clients hearts and ofcourse loves to roll into The Pilates Barn for his daily dose of love and affection and to demonstrate how the famous Cat Stretch is actually done.
If you think time flies, you haven’t held a plank recently.
Pilates encourages strengthening with good posture which lightens the load on your spine and joints by correcting muscular imbalances due to bad alignment or misuse of muscles. Which in turn will alleviate tension.

The Pilates Barn – Freedom To Move I was 38 years old when I had a spinal fusion of L4-L5 after an injury 8 years earlier. I did no exercise as I was afraid to hurt my back. I was 52 when I was introduced to Pilates as an exercise option.
If you thought Pilates is only for girls, think again.
Pilates is great at developing the minor muscles which help to strengthen your major muscles.
The result is increased power for your max lifts or long rides. Ask these guys they’ll tell you. Nothing interferes with their weekly Pilates session.
When last did you stop to stretch and open up your upper back to breathe deeper?
Joseph Pilates recognized that people generally breathe shallowly, only bringing air into the top portion of the lungs. This constricts the flow of air, can increase stress, and lead to fatigue. We need to take full, deep breaths to oxygenate the blood fully.
