** MEET JIM - OWNER OF BREATHE STRETCH FLOAT **

It has been a while so for those of you yet to visit us here at Breathe Stretch Float, this is Jim Ryan - owner and creator of this amazing space.

Here are a few things you may not know about him:

* Played professional ice hockey from ages 16-23

* Represented Scotland and Great Britain

* Joined Thames Valley Police in 1993 and moved to Australia, joining SAPOL, in 2005

* Received two Superintendent Commendations during his career

* Became a stay-at-home parent in 2012

* Hand-painted the infamous wings on our wall

A change of life, journey and experiences along the way, in conjunction with his passion for connection and helping people, led to the creation of ‘Breathe Stretch Float’ - home of SA's first and only Himalayan Salt Cave.

He understands and has seen firsthand, the need for human connection, the desire to feel part of 'something', what isolation can do mentally and physically to people, the lifelong effects trauma can have on people and what long term stress can do.
Herein lies, the sense of community, family and wellbeing ethos, behind Breathe Stretch Float.

Each month we like to recognise chapter members who were high contributors and who have consistently strived to meet or exceed networking goals such as referrals, one-to-one meetings with other chapter members or inviting visitors to attend the weekly meeting.

In December/January, Jim Ryan from Breathe Stretch Float received the Notable Networker Award and we thought we would ask him to share a little about himself and his business.

𝟭.) 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗮𝘁?
I launched Breathe Stretch Float in 2019 to provide physical and mental health services that work to the Adelaide community. Having been diagnosed with a degenerative neurological condition in 2008, I’d searched for ways to improve my physical and mental health, sadly, most treatments I tried failed to deliver. Float Therapy and Havening Techniques were the first to offer an instantaneous beneficial effect and are a great way to help others. I also offer salt therapy for respiratory and skin conditions as well as corporate yoga and studio space for hire for classes and workshops to other practitioners. We run health retreats and sound baths as well to help with relaxation.

𝟮.) 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝘁𝗶𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀?
I have been a member of BNI Advantage for 3 years now and believe it has been instrumental in my business growth. Not only has it helped me but the connections I have made has helped many of my clients who I have been able to refer on. It’s not so much about the stat, it’s the benefits that my network brings to my clients that keeps me referring.

The best piece of advice I have had is to visit other chapters and broaden my network, I have always enjoyed this and have met many great new referral partners this way. Clients attending Breathe Stretch Float do so for a great many reasons, I listen out to the ones looking to solve a problem and think about who else in my network could help.
