What a wonderful day and celebration of culture and colour. While the rain fell at first, and the concert began indoors, when the skies cleared we were all able to celebrate together. There is so much to be gained for celebrating the rich cultural tapestry that is Macarthur Girls High School.
Look out for our newsletter tomorrow for more wonderful pictures.
Hoping the rain holds off for our Multicultural Assembly today. The students, as always, look amazing in their cultural dress
Year 10 students were spoilt today with a Careers Panel made up of past students who willingly gave their time in support of the students. Many thanks to Rima, Anastasia, Minnie, Helen, Julia and Solani for sharing their post school experiences.
After three fun and tiring days, Year 7 have hopped onto the bus and are heading back to school. Our estimated time of arrival is 2:45pm.
Last day of Year 7 camp! Two morning activities before we head onto the buses at 1pm. Another fun-filled day ahead. We anticipate our campers being back at school at approximately 2.45pm however will send another message confirming this once they are on their way.
After their first night away from home, Year 7 students have conquered a range of challenges. Some students have gone to new heights they have never seen before on activities like high ropes and rock climbing, while others put their balancing and collaborative skills to work in canoeing. We finished the night with games, a disco and scary stories around the campfire. We are looking forward to Day 2!
Year 7 students have arrived safely to The Great Aussie Bush Camp! We wish Year 7 a safe and exciting trip ahead.
The NSW State Emergency Service (SES) has advised Macarthur Girls High School of severe thunderstorms and elevated rainfall due to impact the local area on Friday. This may result in flooding of the Parramatta River. This may also result in roads being closed due to flood impacts during the day on Friday.
While this does not impact the daily running of our school, students are advised not to attempt crossing the Parramatta River on their way to and from school on Friday. The school also strongly recommends students to pay close attention to road signs, and use elevated walkways or alternative routes to commute to and from school. Please access updates on the NSW SES website https://www.ses.nsw.gov.au/ and through local media. For information on road closures, visit the Live Traffic website https://www.livetraffic.com/. In case of emergency, always please dial triple zero (000).
