What is Nourish?
Nourish creates compassionate awareness around the habits and behaviours that you currently hold around your health and wellness and strengthens your understanding and relationship to food and eating.
In this day long retreat you will have the opportunity to begin the process of identifying and working thorough some of your own blocks and barriers around food and eating using a variety of tools including meditation, breath work, mindfulness, shadow work, journalling and education. You will learn how to replace automatic thoughts and patterns with conscious choices that nourish you and your body.
Nourish Involves:
*Noticing the effect that food has on you emotionally and physically.
*Listening to your body’s cues and signals.
*Mindfulness around your choices of what, when and how you eat.
*Understanding and appreciating the food you choose to eat.
*Connecting food with enjoyment and positive feelings.
*Letting go of feelings of guilt and shame around food and eating.
*Eating to maintain long term health and wellbeing.

Domestic fruits tend to be lower in sugar and will have less of an affect on your blood sugar. Tropical fruits tend to be higher in sugar and will raise your sugar levels rapidly. A few things to consider when creating a healthy environment for your liver...

Some oils are WAY better than others. Here are the ones to avoid (Highly Inflammatory) and the ones to replace them with. Use avocado and coconut oil for high heat cooking. Extra Virgin Olive Oil should be used for low to mid heat cooking (nothing over a 5-6 on your stovetop). Almond oil and coconut oil make a wonderful skin moisturizer and natural UV barrier for your skin.
I
Replenish with the right foods that will help to refill glycogen stores and provide the necessary amino acids required to repair and build muscle mass.
AND if you struggle with blood sugar imbalances, strength training helps to improve insulin sensitivity making the need for medication less likely! Now that is something to celebrate! Now go and lift some weight.
So many reasons why we need to be moving our beautiful bodies on the regular!

Supporting your liver is an important first step toward creating a healthy body.
Simple ways to improve liver health include incorporating greens into your diet daily, drinking plenty of fresh filtered water, minimizing alcohol and caffeine, and moving your body everyday.
Good quality drinking water is essential. Most tap water is sub par. At the very least, you want to be filtering your water with a Brita. If you can afford a quality filtration system such as a Berkey, even better! If you are on a well, test your water regularly to see if there are contaminants and use a blue light filter to kill bacteria such as e-coli and salmonella from agricultural practices. I personally am so blessed to have amazing well water!
