Life and Laughter Coach
Do your emotions trip you up at times? I can help you to feel the way you want to feel so you can do
Supporting you in your journey to achieve what you want for yourself and your life.
Did you know that I also work with new coaches and therapists and those just completing their training?
They are often looking to offer client sessions at a very reduced rate, if the client is willing to be part of their case studies.
Let me know if this is something that might interest you.
Just a reminder that the next Association For Coaching Co-Coaching group for West Kent meets again on Tuesday 30th July.
At the meeting, we'll be thinking about the Psychology of Colour and how it can be used to improve confidence, before we move into our co-coaching practice.
Please join us to learn, network and meet together in a friendly and informal setting.
Get in touch or take a look at the Events section on the Association for Coaching website for more details.
The coaching I offer is aimed to help you move forward to a new place, so that you feel stronger and more resilient going forward.
To gain the most from coaching it's helpful to commit to a minimum of 1 full program with regular sessions. This helps to embed new behaviours and positive thinking patterns. These then hopefully stay with you throughout your life.
Life has a habit of leading us off in directions that often feel like they are taking us away from our goals.
And yet often this diversion can lead to many wonderful gifts that unexpectedly enrich and advance us, when we allow ourselves to respond to the needs at hand and remain connected to our purpose.
Models used in Coaching supervision, such as Kolb’s Learning Cycle, can help expand learning and reflection.
Here’s the Model:
Description - what happened
Feelings - your reactions and feelings
Evaluation - what went well and what could be improved
Analysis - make sense of the situation
Conclusion - what have you learned?
Action Plan - what are you going to do differently?

When change happens there are different layers.
The surface layer we notice immediately.
Then there are the deeper layers. The ones that reveal themselves over time.
We are often unaware of the deepest layers until we reflect back and we notice how different things have become.
Coaching can help!
Following on from my post last week about coaching models I sometimes use, here’s another one from 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, by Stephen Covey.
Win-Win: Abundance mentality. Thoughtful leaders think this way
Lose-Win: Scarcity mentality. A lot of people are just too nice: people pleasers sacrificing own interests
Win-Lose: Scarcity mentality. Many people want to win at the expense of others
Lose-Lose: Scarcity mentality. When 2 stubborn win-lose people interact, they both lose

When we allow ourselves to take up space by standing with a wide stance and/or holding our arms out to our sides (Star Fish style) and if we hold this for 2 minutes our body sends messages to the brain that creates a shift in our internal chemistry that can help boost your sense of confidence.
This internal shift can also help us to be perceived by other as more confident.

Your body language may shape who you are (NOTE: Some of the findings presented in this talk have been referenced in an ongoing debate among social scientists about robustness and reproducibility. Read "Corrections & Updates" below for more details as well as Amy Cuddy's response.) Body language affects how others see us, but it may also ch...
Sometimes, in coaching, I use models that can help to guide a client’s thoughts, open up the thinking to find new perspectives or affirm positive behaviours and thinking strategies.
For example, this is the 'Circle of Concern vs Circle of Influence' model, created by Alice Dartnell https://buff.ly/3XNOI6x
Often we believe that our ways of being are just ‘who we are’ and were maybe learned very early in life. So it feels like it’s always been this way.
But anything learned can be unlearned.
Alongside coaching, I use Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT).
This modality can help the mind to make changes in the blink of an eye and it can impact even some very deep-seated ways of being.
Book a free discovery session to experience IEMT for yourself to see if it might help you too.
Some good questions to consider might be:
• What is the ideal - the Dream?
• How would this feel and flow?
• What of this is already here now?
• What is the next easiest step?
• What can I do now?
• What will I work towards?
Coaching can help.
Do you think about alternative behaviours?
For example, ‘if not that, then what?’ What else could you do instead of doing that old, outdated behaviour?
If we simply stop a behaviour there might be a void.
That’s why it helps to think about what you will do instead.
What is a new, healthier, alternative to that old behaviour?
How do you treat others?
The Golden Rule – treat others as you would like to be treated yourself…or…The Platinum Rule – ask others how they would like to be treated.
Do you want to feel differently or struggle with your emotions but don’t want to be digging through past events?
Integral Eye Movement (IEMT) is different, working with your eyes and only revisiting past experiences for the briefest of moments.
Book a free session with me to experience this approach for yourself.
Our next West Kent Co-Coaching Forum is tonight!
If you are a coach or are interested in becoming a coach, this is a great group to join.
We explore specific topics throughout the year and there is always a warm welcome, good conversation and support.
If you’d like more information or would like to join us this evening, please get in touch (or take a look here: https://buff.ly/3FobVRB).
Self-care is not selfish. In fact, it’s quite the opposite.
Think about the analogy of oxygen masks on an aeroplane – you put your own mask on before you can help others.
If you don’t take care of yourself, you can’t show up well for others.
To give them 100%, you need to make sure you have 100% in the tank to give.
Sometimes it can be better to give less and make sure that what you give is of good quality.
“Nobody, as long as he moves about among the chaotic currents of life, is without trouble.” Carl Jung
Coaching can help.
What is Integral Eye Movement Therapy?
IEMT is a therapy that helps you detach from negative emotions.
The therapist (IEMT Practitioner) will ask you a series of questions that lead you to think about a specific memory while looking at their fingers as they guide you to move your eyes through a pattern of movements.
That’s it!
But this simple process can bring about huge emotional change.
Calling all coaches, trainee coaches and experienced coaches!
I’m a Coach Supervisor and would love to offer you a FREE discovery session!
Please get in touch or visit my website to book.
Do you struggle with a phobia of bees or wasps?
Are the warmer months difficult for you as you live in fear on a daily basis?
Take a look at this interesting CPD article, which outlines the potential benefits of Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT) - https://buff.ly/3ptjR0d.
If you’d like to book a free initial session with me to explore IEMT further, please get in touch!
The theme of our next West Kent Co-Coaching Forum will be BBM – Breath, Body and Mind.
Being personally resourced and fully present for your clients is an essential part of being a great coach.
BBM practices are designed to activate mind-body communication pathways, raise energy, regulate mood, enhance performance, reduce inflammation, and help dissolve pain.
This is helpful for anyone who wishes to improve their stress resilience, physical health, and general well-being.
If you would like more information or would like to join us for our next meeting on Tuesday 18th June, please get in touch (or take a look at the Association for Coaching website: https://buff.ly/3VekPJO)!
When our feelings overwhelm us it can be helpful to have a safe space/person to explore what is happening and who can help us find out way forward.
Coaching can help!

Benefits of laughter
• Stress release! – if you feel stressed, laugh it out
• Health – it boosts circulation, which in turn helps your immune system
• Pain relief – the feel-good endorphins which are released help to reduce pain
• Enlivens your chuckle muscles – the practice of simulated laughter helps stimulate our ability to laugh naturally
• It feels good! – it feels good to laugh, even if it is a simulated laughter
• It burns calories – yes that’s right, laughter is a form of exercise. It’s like internal jogging
• It brings fresh oxygen into your system – laughter is breathwork that helps clear old stale air from the lungs and bring in fresh rejuvenating oxygen to the system
• It's FUN and quite often funny too. Simulated laughter often stimulates laughter and before you know it body and mind may be fully enjoying the experience.
You can laugh for no reason!
Laughter does so many amazing things for us and yet so often we leave our laughter to chance.
The Laughter Yoga approach suggests that you laugh through choice simply because the act of laughter can help you to feel better, brighter, stronger, and more resilient.
Because when we laugh, we fire off changes in our internal chemistry and then the body leads the mind, so laughing through choice (fake laughter) can have the same positive impact that real laughter has.
Book your Laughter Workshop through me via DM or email.
I was recently thinking of some of the different organisations I have laughed with over the last 10 years.
They include a very well-known social media platform (I can’t name them), the NHS, The Women’s Institute, a Veterinary Practice, Wayfinder Woman (a charity in Eastbourne), AXA PPP, Association for Coaching, the Local Council, a hen night, a couple of marketing companies and Java Bean Café .
If you'd like to book a Laughter Workshop for your business or just find out more about it, just drop me a DM or an email.
Laughter is great for team bonding, stress relief, health, well-being and of course fun!
I can adapt to suit the needs of your business and the theme that is required (for example, Well-being, Health, Stress Relief, Connection, Fun, Play...).
The sessions can be anything from 20 minutes to 90 minutes in length.
Personally, I always feel lighter and brighter myself after a laughter session - it truly does make a difference!
Please feel free to call or email if you'd like to know more.
