In support of the campaign, let’s remind everyone that abuse and harassment take time and attention away from caring for your loved ones. Together, we can ensure a safe and respectful environment for all our healthcare workers.

A single act of speaking up can make a difference.

With abuse becoming increasingly rampant across our healthcare institutions, everyone has a part to play to protect our healthcare workers. Nobody goes to a healthcare institution with the intention to abuse. Every one of us can play a part in ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all.

Even as bystanders, your intervention and support in the face of abuse is important. If you see abuse or harassment, don't ignore it!

---

This campaign is part of the efforts of the Tripartite Workgroup for the Prevention of Abuse and Harassment’s (TWG). TWG was established to spearhead a coordinated national effort to prevent the abuse and harassment of healthcare workers in the public, private, and community care sectors in Singapore.

Regular follow-up with a healthcare provider is important to monitor the condition, adjust treatments, and manage any side effects. With proper treatment, symptoms of MG can be relieved and individuals can function normally.

What is the link between hypertension, or high blood pressure, and neurological conditions?

🧠 Stroke

Hypertension is a leading risk factor for stroke, which occurs when the blood supply to part of the brain is interrupted or reduced, leading to damage or death of brain tissue.

🧠 Vascular dementia

Stroke and chronic hypertension can damage blood vessels in the brain, increasing the risk of vascular dementia, a decline in thinking abilities (cognitive function) due to impaired blood flow to the brain.

🧠 Intracerebral haemorrhage

Chronic hypertension can weaken blood vessel walls in the brain, increasing the risk of blood vessels rupturing causing bleeding into the brain tissue.

It’s important to learn how to manage high blood pressure. Watch this space for tips on how to prevent hypertension!
