Alice’s House | A Safe Place for Children

The Program Director manages the day-to-day operations of Alice’s House. Live-in staff, known as Group Leaders, are responsible for the children in Alice’s House around the clock.

A typical day consists of the same sort of activities children would normally experience in a traditional home setting – meals, study time, individual time with the staff and of course, play. Youth in residence share the responsibility for chores and each maintains his or her own bedroom.

For each youth, the staff maintains a “Plan of Care” that outlines the child’s goals for his or her time in residence. Goals cover areas such as behavior, personal relationships, education, health and spiritual growth.

Local healthcare professionals provide medical services to youth in residence. Youth who are in extended care in Alice’s House also receive counseling services from professionals in the community.
