One of the modalities used in therapy is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which focuses on how your thoughts impact your feelings which impact behaviors, and vise versa. Here are some examples of what this looks like in real life, both ways. Recognizing and interrupting this cycle is difficult, but shifting to a more positive reaction cycle will improve your emotional regulation and mental health significantly!

Anxiety is not just in your head. It can manifest in a variety of different physical symptoms, and some of them you may not immediately recognize as anxiety. Learning to manage anxiety symptoms through therapy, mindfulness, breathing exercises, or medication will help you feel like your best and more authentic self, and it's important to talk to a mental health professional if anxiety is impacting your day to day life.

Signs you need a break from social media from . It's so easy to mindlessly scroll on your phone when you're bored or avoiding other tasks, but you almost never feel better afterwards. Recognizing when you need to take a break is the first step, but holding yourself accountable is the next. Try setting time limits on your phone or making a list of other activities you can try when you notice you're spending a little too much time on your phone.

Here are some alternative actions when you're feeling angry and navigating self harm urges. When your emotions become too intense, it can feel difficult to get express them in a safe way, but these will all give you a better way to handle your anger without hurting yourself or anyone else.
