Through this collaboration Pacific Oaks will provide Transitional Kindergarten training and professional development to educators across the San Gabriel area. Beginning in 2025, all CA public schools will require Transitional Kindergarten, and this initiative will provide vital support to teachers.

It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of our dear colleague and friend, Dr. Leanne Wruck. Leanne passed away unexpectedly on Friday, and we are all grappling with the loss of someone who has been such an integral part of our community. Since joining The Community Solution Education System as Chief Academic Officer in February 2019, her dedication to educational excellence and her commitment to our students' success were evident in all she did. During her tenure, Leanne worked with our colleges and universities to advance new degree programs, achieve accreditation milestones, and improve student retention and graduation rates. She created a strong community among academic leaders across our System, leading academic assemblies that brought together faculty to discuss new and innovative approaches to teaching. In her most recent role as interim president of Pacific Oaks she successfully led the college to a 10-year reaffirmation of its accreditation with WASC Senior College and University Commission. Her contributions to our community were profound, and she will be deeply missed. A scholarship will be established in the coming weeks honoring her contributions to higher education and commitment to academic innovation and student success. KansasCOM to build biomedical laboratory enhancing student research - Wichita Business Journal 07/11/2024

Exciting enhancements at Kansas Health Science University are on the horizon with the development of a state-of-the-art biomedical laboratory for Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine. This new facility will enhance student research opportunities in microbiology, genetics, and cellular biology. Thanks to a generous Community Service Program Tax Credit award from the state of Kansas, the university has already raised $166,600 and is seeking to raise $333,200 from donors to make this a reality. Construction will begin in early 2026, with the lab opening for the 2026 academic year. Stay tuned for more updates!

WSU and Osteopathic College announce partnership 06/17/2024

Wichita State University (WSU) and Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine (KansasCOM) have announced an exciting new partnership aimed at enhancing medical education and healthcare services in Kansas. Central to this partnership is the introduction of a 3+4 program, designed to streamline the path to a medical degree. This initiative allows students to complete their undergraduate and medical education in seven years instead of the traditional eight. By combining resources and expertise, WSU and KansasCOM aim to create new opportunities for aspiring medical professionals and strengthen healthcare delivery in communities across Kansas.
