First and Second Year Advising

Congratulations for two of our academic advisors for their department awards today! Jessica received the Newcomer Award and Danielle received the Dedication to Students award! Y’all have been amazing since day 1 and we’re happy to see our colleagues recognize it as well!

PS- shoutout to our awesome admin coordinator Mario as well! He received another award (as he should) but he wasn’t able to make it to the ceremony! Cheers to the awesome people on our team!

It’s global advising week! To commemorate our FSYA team aka your favorite academic advisors, all week we’ll have a sticker in our story for YOU to send us some shoutouts/kudos/favorite mems with your advisor. And we’ll compile them and give it to them at the end of the week! Thank you, advisors!

Thanks for everyone that logged on to Express Advising during registration week! We were able to help over 1400 visitors during the whole week! As a reminder, your FSYA advisors are back to general advising appointments. If you want to meet with your FSYA advisor, you should be able to via Navigate. Also, Express Advising hours will be back to 1:30 pm - 4 pm Wednesday - Friday. Lock in to the end of the semester! You got this!

Happy Day 4 of Registration Week! Today FSYA Advisors wore our Chicago Sports day! We also were able to interact with a lot of friends especially our rising sophomores today! We know it’s busy but we’re excited to help you all on the last stretch of registration week, tomorrow!

Congratulations to one of our assistant directors - Josh! He was awarded the SAS Flying Pig Award! Just like the award, Josh has gone above and beyond to make, “the impossible, possible!” from his students, to his UNIV Classes, our advisors he trains, and even other professional involvements around campus! Congratulations to one of our Assistant Directors - Josh and Business Honors Advisor - Dave for their UNIV 101 awards today. Josh’s Teaching Team received the award for Team Spirit and Dave received the award for Unity & Grace. Keep being awesome mentors of the community! Happy Thurs-SLAY in Pajamas day! FSYA and Scholars departments continued to assist students this week during registration week. One more day our all day registration day.
