Why is stretching important?
"It is normal for the body to be in a state of tension; however, individuals do not normally feel this tension when it is in balance. When the fascia gets just the right amount of mobility every day from stretching, it remains in balance. When a person is underactive, they get tight and maybe even sore, and may feel the need to stretch and move. When a person is overactive or is intensely training or competing, they also get tight and sore and often feel the need to stretch and rest. Stretching counteracts these effects as well as slows down the wear and tear and other negative effects of aging."
