Hawaiʻi Bicycling League salutes the plaintiffs in the landmark Navahine F. v. Hawai’i Department of Transportation lawsuit and shares our mahalo with Governor Green and his administration for agreeing to a comprehensive settlement as announced on June 20th, 2024. HBL has long advocated for Complete Streets, Vision Zero, and increased sustainable transportation options in Hawaiʻi. Now, thanks to the courageous actions of the youth plaintiffs in this case, there is a legally-binding agreement for the State of Hawai‘i to rapidly accelerate the expansion of multi-modal transportation choices, including completing pedestrian, bicycle, and transit networks in coordination with the Counties.

The voices of these youth plaintiffs were heard and met with direct action! Their bravery, perseverance, and hope secured a monumental climate victory for all people in Hawaiʻi and around the world.

This is truly something to celebrate! Join us at a rally at ʻIolani Palace on Monday, June 24th from 10am - 1pm to declare victory for our keiki & the climate. (Rally hosted by and )
