Black service members have played invaluable roles in the U.S. military since the American Revolutionary War and today, continue to serve honorably and bravely in all branches of the Armed Forces.

The USO is honored to announce the 2023 USO Service Members of the Year, individuals recognized for their remarkable heroism and selfless dedication.
On December 5th, Juliet Bucayu-Domingo, USO Hawaii Area Director, had the privilege of representing the USO in a special recognition ceremony at Coast Guard Sand Island, Honolulu, where she recognized BM2 Jordan M. Canion as the USO Coast Guard Service Member of the Year.

This distinguished award is an annual tradition where the USO acknowledges outstanding individuals from each military branch. Nominated by their command leadership, these recipients have demonstrated extraordinary acts of bravery, embodying the core values of the Armed Forces and the USO. 🎖️
