The Society for Hawaiian Archaeology was established in 1980 to promote and stimulate interest and research in the archaeology of the Hawaiian Islands.

Our monthly SHA board meeting will be held this Friday, May 17th, at 5:30 pm at Hana Koa Brewing, 962 Kawaiaha'o Street in Kaka'ako, and will be immediately followed by the monthly O'ahu pau hana.
On Hawai'i Island, our monthly pau hana be held at 6:00 pm on Friday, May 17th at Wailuku Beer Works, 16-205 Wiliama Place, Keaau, HI 96749.

Oahu pua hana will be at Beerlab, 1318 S. Beretania from 6:30-8:30pm.

The monthly board meeting is this Friday, April 12, at 5:30 pm in person at 329 Saunders Hall, UH Mānoa and via Zoom.
Immediately following the monthly board meeting, we'll join our members for pau hana!
O'ahu-based members will meet at Beerlab at 1318 S. Beretania (Located next to Grace’s, kinda tucked away. Look for the wall art!) from 6:30-8:30. They have outdoor seating, beers, poke, and yard games (Co****le, etc).
Big island-based members will meet at Hilo Town Tavern, 168 Keawe Street from 6:00 - 8:00. They have indoor and outdoor seating, beers, billiards, and ono grinds.

- Promote and stimulate interest and research in the archaeology of the Hawaiian Islands
- Encourage a more rational public appreciation of the aims and limitations of archaeological research
- Serve as a bond among those interested in Hawaiian archaeology, both professionals and non-professionals, and aid in directing their efforts into more scientific channels as well as encourage the publication of their results
- Advocate and assist in the conservation of archaeological data
- Discourage unethical commercialism in the archaeological field and work for its elimination.
The Society’s journal Hawaiian Archaeology was established in 1984.
