We hope you’re enjoying our Staff Sundays! Today, we’re excited to introduce you to one of our incredible team members who makes a huge impact here at Eads.

Meet Miss Weir, our amazing Aspire teacher! Miss Weir plays a vital role in supporting many of our exceptional students, focusing on essential skills like self-care and communication.

Here are some fun facts about Miss Weir:

She has a serious love for sour gummy worms 🍬.
She’s a former basketball and softball player. If she were in the Olympics, she'd definitely be on the basketball team! 🏀
If she weren’t a teacher (though we can’t even imagine that!), she’d be an ER nurse, because taking care of others is her passion. 🩺
She loves to travel, with Ft. Meyers, Florida, holding a special place in her heart. 🌴✈️
Miss Weir has been a fantastic addition to our Eads family for the past couple of years. She was instrumental in setting up the Peer Pals program, which pairs her students with their peers to foster long-lasting friendships. 🌟

STAFF SUNDAY: Today, we're thrilled to shine the spotlight on Jennifer Bevil, one of our dedicated Kindergarten teachers at Eads. Outside of school, Mrs. Bevil loves spending time with her husband and their three children: Michael, Madison, and Danny. Their family is also joined by a lovable dog, a friendly cat, a tortoise, and four chickens!

Mrs. Bevil graduated from Purdue University in 2011 and has spent her entire teaching career in Indiana. If she weren’t in the classroom, she might be working as a social worker. When it’s time to unwind, Mrs. Bevil enjoys reality TV, with "Housewives" and "Survivor" being her top choices for binge-watching.

A fun and unique tidbit about Mrs. Bevil: she has a daughter-in-law named Taylor Swift! ;

The initial weeks of school are a time for discovery in Kindergarten, with Mrs. Bevil's class engaging in exploratory activities in the new Outdoor Classroom, utilizing pattern blocks in math, and practicing writing skills on whiteboards.

STAFF SUNDAY:
Today, we're excited to feature Julie Alvarez, who joined Eads last year as a permanent substitute teacher. Her positive experience led her to become an instructional assistant on our team this school year.

Julie shares her home with two beloved dogs: a mix of Pit Bull and Bulldog, and a Maltese Terrier. She also loves spending time in Traverse City, Michigan.

When reflecting on her educational journey, Miss Alvarez proudly names Mrs. Potchen as her favorite teacher.
Miss Alvarez said, " The teachers of Eads are so wonderful and so generous . They look out for their students and treat them as their own. As a former student of Eads, I feel so connected wit the teachers and so glad to be working with them." Welcome to Eads Miss Alvarez! ,

STAFF SUNDAY:
Today, we are excited to introduce Mrs. Lisa Uylaki, one of our dedicated first grade teachers at Eads. A proud Munster graduate from the Class of 1991, Mrs. Uylaki's connection to Eads runs deep—she was a student here and has spent her entire teaching career with us. Her commitment to our community is truly inspiring!

At home, Mrs. Uylaki enjoys spending time with her husband Mike, their children Ella and Jake, and their beloved pets: a dog named Phoebe and a cat named Flanders.

Her favorite subject to teach is science, a passion she credits to Mr. Edington, her high school Biology, AP Biology, and Environmental Science teacher. Mrs. Uylaki also loves reading to her students, with Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson being a particular favorite.

Please join us in celebrating Mrs. Uylaki's dedication and enthusiasm for both teaching and our Eads community!

Today the hallways of Eads Elementary are quiet. 😔 Teachers have prepared for the first day of school with excitement and are ready for students to fill the classrooms. The office is quiet, the hallways are darkened, but tomorrow that all changes! We hope your kiddos are ready for us because we are ready for them! Here’s to a medal winning year!

Eads Elementary is abuzz with excitement as new families familiarize themselves with the building and the PTO offers a hearty welcome. Our teachers are diligently preparing for the first day of school on Monday, August 12, and we look forward to welcoming new educators to our community!

Come out to celebrate Munster's 29th Annual Night Out Celebration!

The fun kicks off with a parade at 4:30 PM, featuring student groups, veterans, first responders, and more. The main event runs from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Munster Community Pool area, with free swimming (bring ID), prizes, games, K-9 demos, over 140 booths, magic shows, music, food trucks, special guests, and fireworks. Don't miss out on the fun!

Superintendent Dr. Heller and School Board President John Doherty spoke today at a public hearing in Indianapolis regarding the proposed changes to the high school diplomas for the Class of 2028.
