The Indiana Speech Schools Speech and Debate Association (ISSDA) recognizes Donald Fortner for forty-five years of service. Congratulations to Social Studies Department Chair and Speech and Debate coach Donald Fortner on 45 years of dedication! Donald currently volunteers his time as a coach and mentor. Since 1979, Donald has coached countless state and national finalists, but his greatest achievement is the lasting impact he's made by teaching the invaluable skill of communication. Part one of celebrating the 2024 MHS Alumni & Faculty Hall of Fame Inductees was a success.

Our inductees enjoyed a nostalgic tour of MHS, with many returning for the first time since the good ol' days. They also delivered inspiring speeches to our MHS students. Next up: a Meet & Greet at 313 Tap Room, followed by the MHS Tailgate and Varsity Football game.

On Tuesday, August 27, the Munster High School boys' soccer team took part in a meaningful project with Letters of Love. The team crafted heartfelt and creative cards that will be sent to children’s hospitals worldwide, supporting the mission of this international non-profit organization. What an incredible group of young men—this kind gesture is sure to bring smiles to children’s faces across the globe.

The fun kicks off with a parade at 4:30 PM, featuring student groups, veterans, first responders, and more. The main event runs from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Munster Community Pool area, with free swimming (bring ID), prizes, games, K-9 demos, over 140 booths, magic shows, music, food trucks, special guests, and fireworks.
