This year, we honor and remember Alyson Fisher, an advocate for disability awareness, by renaming our award. Joseph Hamilton is our first recipient of the Alyson Fisher Disability Awareness Award. Joe graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Finance this past May from Cabrini University. He was an active member of the Delta Alpha Pi Honor Society, which recognizes high achieving students with disabilities. Joe took on a leadership role on the executive board for two years and helped to coordinate events on campus to raise awareness for students with disabilities and manage the club funds. We're very proud of him and wish him the best!

How to remove distractions to study for final exams
Apps: Forest and Freedom are both available on iOS and Android devices. Both are used to block certain apps and websites (e.g. Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest) to help you stay focused on studying.
Extensions: Cold Turkey and StayFocusd
Block your whole computer except for the websites you need to complete projects or study for exams. It also allows the user to customize the time these sites are blocked.
Good luck in finishing your projects, papers, and exams!
Starting next Monday all classes will be virtual at Cabrini University. To assist in preparing for this change, here are a few pieces of advice:
1. Create a dedicated study space. This may look different if you’ve decided to continue classes at home rather than live on campus after the Thanksgiving break. Tell others you live with where your study space is and to not disturb you while your there.
2. Keep your end goal in mind. Your goal is probably to pass your class but maybe you need a certain grade to pass. Whatever the goal may be remind yourself of them daily.
3. Stay consistent. If you have a routine, you’re more likely to maintain it. Consistency is key to succeeding in anything you do.
4. Check your Cabrini email multiple times a day. If you have questions follow up with your professors through email. This is going to be the best way to contact professors, staff, and other students.
Check back soon for more helpful tips in finishing the semester strong!

Cabrini Disability Resource Center students participated in our annual event called "Pizza with the Provost" where candid and meaningful conversations took place with Provost and VP for Academic Affairs Dr. Chioma Ugochukwu. Many student centered experiences were discussed with " Dr. C" which she will share at her next Faculty Council meeting. Disability awareness event extraordinaire!! So proud of these students 😊 Thank you Sara Farina for your help and support with this event!
