CALS International Programs supports international efforts of the college and collaborates with the global community through our engagement opportunities.
By 2050, the world faces the challenge of feeding an additional 2 billion people with a decreasing amount of land and water allocated for agriculture and the continued impact of climate change. These grand challenges cannot be solved individually. Therefore, we are devoted to collaborating with our partners from around the world to contribute sustainable solutions in order to feed a world of 9 billion people.

Our Vietnam Cochran Fellows are learning my about the availability of dried fruit and tree nuts in California this week. Yesterday we learned how UC Davis researchers are tackling production issues through breeding. Today we’re hearing about the state of the tree nut industry at the Tree Nut and Vine Expo.

From grant-funded research projects to hands-on internships, we create opportunities for faculty, staff, and students to engage abroad. We also extend similar services through our Global Academy, a specialized office that designs technical and leadership programs for international agriculture professionals.
