NC State Nuclear Engineering Professor, Dr. KL Murty, receives the prestigious Alexander Quarles Holladay Medal for Excellence.

This award is the highest honor bestowed by NC State and the university’s Board of Trustees. Chancellor Randy Woodson will recognize 4 awardees during the Celebration of Faculty Excellence on April 30.

Each year we have teams of first year engineering students choose the "Light sensitive monitors for the PULSTAR reactor" aka the nuclear power probe as their FEDD project. Teams build their probe, test and showcase results at NC State's First-Year Engineering Design Day.
