Join NC State Student Leadership and Engagement and NC State OIS for an trip to Washington D.C. during (October 11th-15th). This team will engage in a variety of direct service and educational opportunities to better understand the cycle of poverty in an urban setting. Activities will include service projects, educational speakers, and a few tourist activities! Service will primarily focus on food security and homelessness alleviation. Estimated cost of the trip is $400-$500. Congratulations to our , Sumedh Deepak Patkar! 🎓🎉 Sumedh earned a Master’s degree in Computer Science (NC State Computer Science). He held several roles on campus, including being the outgoing secretary of Maitri at NCSU, event coordinator for Hindu YUVA at NC State, and vice president of the Sustainable Entrepreneurship Club. Sumedh has also volunteered with OIS as a for International Student Orientation ( , , ). “A fond memory—at Maitri, during Aarambh—our Fresher’s party, I volunteered to be the DJ. It was my first time playing in front of such a big crowd of around 400+ students. It was a thrilling experience. At the end of the set, they were cheering my name! I have been the de-facto DJ for several events since then for e.g. Diwali, CSC Graduate Sundowner, Holi party, etc.”
