Did you know that today is National Bourbon Day? Have you ever wanted to learn more about the history, culture, and production of bourbon, beer, and spirits?
Then GTO 320 Bourbon, Beer, & Spirits might be for you! You’ll get an examination of the role of tourism on breweries, distilleries, economics, and communities.
In this course you will learn the process of brewing and distilling from an expert in the bourbon industry, Susan Reigler.
Note. Must be 21 years or older to enroll.

You might also see Dr. Rebecca Crawford who is Clinical Faculty from the Department of Applied Human Sciences, as well as the Faculty Recruitment Coordinator for the college.
Sometime this summer you might be introduced to LeAnna Hensley, who is the Coordinator of Clinical Experiences for the Department of Clinical Therapeutic Programs.
You might also meet Dr. Angela Dial. She is a Visiting Assistant Professor within the Apparel Design & Merchandising and Family & Consumer Sciences Education Programs.
Hello to Dr. Jade Hill Robinson, who is an Associate Professor in the Communication Sciences & Disorders Program.
Another awesome person you might meet from the Department of Teaching, Learning, and Educational Leadership is Dr. Sonja H. Yow, who is an Associate Professor, as well as the Associate Chair of the department.
You might be meeting Brandy Blackburn this summer who is the Interim Director of Professional Education Services within our college.
Another person on our team you might see is Dr. Kellie Ellis who is the Department Chair and Professor in Clinical Therapeutic Programs.
You might be able to meet Dr. Nicola F. Mason,
who is a Professor as well as the Chair of the Department of Teaching, Learning, and Educational Leadership.
Please say hello to another member of our Orientation Team – Emily Lay. She is the Academic Advisor in the Office of Professional Education Services.
You might be meeting Stephen M. Howard, Ed.D. this summer. He is the College Enrollment Counselor for our college.
Another person you might meet is Dr. Dana Bush, who is the Associate Dean of the College of Education & Applied Human Sciences. She is also a Professor in the Child & Family Studies Program.
This week we will be introducing you to people that you might be meeting while attending your summer orientation.
The first person would like to introduce you to is Dr. Elizabeth E. Smith, who is the Dean of the College of Education & Applied Human Sciences.

How do I sign up for Orientation?
The most important question this week! Go to the Orientation website (https://www.eku.edu/admissions/orientation/) and follow the steps.

When does Orientation take place?
Orientations are happening all throughout the summer. When you visit, you will be on campus from 9:00 AM till 4:00 PM. These are the Orientation dates this summer:
May 21st and 29th
June 4th, 6th, 11th, 13th, 18th, and 20th
July 16th, 18th, 23rd, 25th, and 30th
August 1st and 6th
What will you learn at Orientation?
You will be learning more important information about Eastern Kentucky University! This is an opportunity you do not want to miss.
We hosted out first Orientation yesterday! It was so exciting to meet these new Colonels and welcome them to campus!
