Truth in Recruitment: Explaining the real nature of military service to high school students considering enlistment.

This company needs to change or die.
Boeing has proven time and again that it can't be trusted with critical projects, yet they’re deeply involved in maintaining the U.S. Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missiles and building key components for nuclear weapons. Let's not forget that Boeing’s track record in recent years is riddled with failures, from fatal commercial plane crashes to delays and design flaws that have shattered public trust.
With over $7 billion in nuclear weapons contracts and a history of involvement in the Minuteman III program, Boeing is profiting from a dangerous game. This is a company that can’t even secure the renewal for the "Doomsday" plane contract, yet is trusted to manage life-and-death technology. Boeing's leadership, with Mike Calhoun earning a staggering $32.8 million while overseeing such a messy record, shows where their priorities lie. It’s time to ask: why are we entrusting a company with this much failure behind it to handle the deadliest weapons on Earth? Enough is enough!
Let's stop participating in the destruction of Our Humanity.
General Assembly General Debate
Call Out U.S. officials who vote for weapons and bombs to be sent to Zionist Apartheid Israel because they are Complicit In Genocide, an Internationally Recognized Crime Against Humanity.
The pro-Israel lobby is weaponizing US politics by attempting to pass the Antisemitism Awareness Act (S.4127), which falsely characterizes criticism of Israel as antisemitism!

Zionist Apartheid Israel, contrary to those members of its peaceful Jewish population, has refused to be a caring, concerned, cooperative, nor compassionate society. Therefore it has become a pariah state of rogue behavior, unbefitting a civil part of our Precious and Sacred Humanity. With aggressive hubris and refusal to STAND DOWN its rogue IDF the existing government must decompose and disappear for peace to return to Palestine and the entire region. It is contrary to International Laws, treaties, and conventions to provide aide, other than agricultural, to Israel due to its genocidal campaign. The U.S. elected officials are now identifiable as Complicit In Genocide and subject to fines, imprisonment, or the sentence of death for this Crime Against Humanity.

"Gaza Encampments Take On the Merchants of Death
The United States has a long and horrific record of providing weapons to repressive regimes that use them to kill their own people or attack their neighbors. Martin Luther King called the U.S. government “the greatest purveyor of violence in the world,” and that has not changed since he said it in 1967, a year to the day before his assassination."
Arsenal of Genocide: The American Weapons Destroying Gaza | Common Dreams While decades of even deadlier U.S. war-making in the greater Middle East failed to provoke a sustained mass protest movement, the genocide in Gaza has opened the eyes of many thousands of young people to the need to rise up against the U.S. war machine.

"Modern US war-waging often occurs through the use of proxy states and funding the troops of another country as long as they act in US interests. They’ll call it military strategy, but at the very root of it, you’ll find a dark feeling of indifference towards the citizens of other nations. Our government could not care less what happens to innocent people in Japan, South Korea, or the Philippines– as long as US global hegemony is preserved, they will let them die."
The US is Preparing for an Unwinnable War Against China CODEPINK is a feminist grassroots organization working to end U.S. wars and militarism, support peace and human rights initiatives, and redirect our tax dollars into healthcare, education, green jobs and other life-affirming programs.

Gratitude for VFP leadership with wisdom and compassion.

"Learn more about the work of the Tularosa Basin Downwinders Consortium and their allies to fight for recognition and compensation in the film: “First We Bombed New Mexico,” being screened in Albuquerque, New Mexico on 16 July. A recent bill to extend and expand coverage of the US compensation scheme is still being ignored by Congress. U.S. citizens should urge their elected representatives to pass the bill that extends and expands the Radiation Compensation Exposure Act."

Our Story
Veterans for Peace is the only veterans organization devoted to promoting peace. Our chapter 35, based in Spokane, WA includes vets from WWII, Korea, Vietnam, etc., including our senior veteran from the first wave of Marines on Iwo Jima. We work toward the following objectives:
Truth in Recruitment: Explaining the real nature of military service to high school students considering enlistment.
-Exposing the true cost of war and militarism.
-Exposing the toxic polluting generated by the military in general and Fairchild AFB in particular.
-Addressing PTSD and veteran su***de.
-Aiding veterans to navigate the bureaucracy required to collect benefits due.
-Addressing the cost of military aid to foreign, generally repressive governments.
-Co-sponsoring speakers and events that contribute to peace and justice.
Spokane Veterans for Peace was chartered in 1989 as the 35th chapter of the organization begun in Maine in 1985. The late Sean Daly, founder of the Colville chapter and the first VFP leader west of New England, was active in the Peace and Justice Action League of Spokane and was determined to have a Spokane chapter.
Veterans For Peace is an international organization made up of military veterans, military family members, and allies. We accept veteran members from all branches of service. We are dedicated to building a culture of peace, exposing the true costs of war, and healing the wounds of war. Our networks are made up of over 120 chapters across the United States and abroad.
Statement of Purpose
We, having dutifully served our nation, do hereby affirm our greater responsibility to serve the cause of world peace. To this end we will work, with others
To increase public awareness of the costs of war
To restrain our government from intervening, overtly and covertly, in the internal affairs of other nations
To end the arms race and to reduce and eventually eliminate nuclear weapons
To seek justice for veterans and victims of war
To abolish war as an instrument of national policy.
To achieve these goals, members of Veterans For Peace pledge to use non-violent means and to maintain an organization that is both democratic and open with the understanding that all members are trusted to act in the best interests of the group for the larger purpose of world peace.
