Judith Sheche (she/her/hers) is a member of the Zuni Pueblo in New Mexico, and a social scientist who focuses on behavioral and systems change within the arena of cancer prevention research. Judith will share an overview of the Zuni Health Initiative (ZHI), a recent study identifying barriers to healthcare in Zuni Pueblo, and discuss lessons learned that can inform the development of community tailored cancer education interventions.

Introducing the M.O.M.S. Tour (Maternal Outcomes Matter Showers): a baby shower series dedicated to improving maternal health outcomes. Targeting communities with high rates of maternal mortality and morbidity, particularly among African American and American Indian/Alaska Native women, this tour goes beyond the traditional baby shower.
The M.O.M.S. Tour gathers mental health professionals, birth workers, medical experts, and community members for vital discussions on maternal health disparities. Offering resources and support, the event provides not only baby essentials but also resources for dads and children, educational materials, access to health services like insurance and mental health support, connections to doulas, and nutritious food.

Students will receive training and support on the job while earning a paycheck and gaining valuable experience.
Summer work is offered in Maricopa, Pima, Pinal, Cochise, Santa Cruz and Navajo Nation-Apache Counties
We are seeking students in Maricopa County and Navajo Nation-WR
Paid work is up to 20 hours/week.
Eligibility:
students with disabilities between the ages of 16-22
students who are Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) clients or are VR eligible

In partnership with North Dakota State University's American Indian Public Health Resource Center, OTR is happy to announce the opening of the application period for the Indigenous Food Sovereignty Emerging Leaders Program (IFSELP)!
Travel expenses, a living stipend, and room and board are all provided!
The IFSELP is a three-week summer program dedicated to creating opportunities for students from across the nation interested in indigenous food sovereignty and public health in Native American Tribal communities. The program will be held at North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND and will feature a variety of topics, speakers, and events to educate and hone skills for a potential career in these fields.
