The smallest child is an orphan who walks 2 kilometers each day to attend her 3d Grade classes at Salih Yusah Elementary. Our heartfelt congrats to all the finalists and their teachers. Wuhoo!!

AAI has been awarded a Plaque of Recognition from DepEd Schools Division of Capiz during the Partners and Stakeholders Recognition and Appreciation ceremony. We are grateful for your partnership and trust over the many years. AAI Coordinator, Faith Omel Dela Torre accepted the award for President Santoli. Ramie Capuyan, who leads the arts program at Cuartero NHS was also in attendance. We are honored. Thank you all and thank you to our many donors of AAI who make this possible.
Honors from the ceremony:
“Since the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan, AAI through the leadership, compassion and generosity of the President and Founder, Dr. Albert Santoli, has been supportive to the DepEd District of Cuartero in various programs and projects that benefited the teachers and the learners.
Projects included the reconstruction of Maindang Elementary School multi-purpose stage, feeding programs, provision of school supplies, books and reference materials, provision of sports equipment to athletes and many more.
Last year, Cuartero NHS-SPA was very honored to be chosen as the beneficiary of the AAI Funding for the Arts Programs after seeing the growth of our learners in the field of arts, providing resources to purchase materials and equipment for our Special Program in the Arts. Also, AAI played a big part to the journey of our young artists to national competitions and workshops. Truly, AAI makes the dreams of our learners into reality.
AAI also supports the programs of Balay Mapanag Library, Museum and Archives Center by providing books and resources for literacy and numeracy activities for children and youth.
Cuartero NHS headed by Mrs. Expectacion J. Lacbanes, Principal IV, the whole Cuartero NHS family, along with the whole force of Cuartero District, we express our gratitude and love to Asia America Initiative, Dr. Albert Santoli and Mrs. Faith Omel Dela Torre and to all the donors and sponsors of the organization worldwide, for the unwavering dedication and service to help us in our endeavors.

On Feb 28, an oil tanker sank off the coast of Oriental Mindoro, south of Manila. The tanker, MT Princess Empress, was carrying 800,000 liters of industrial oil when it sank and authorities had a hard time locating the wreck to plug the fuel leak that followed.
Marine experts estimate that about 36,000 hectares of coral reefs, mangroves, and sea-grass were in danger of being damaged. The spill prompted authorities to ban fishing and swimming in contaminated waters, halting the livelihood of countless residents who rely on fishing and tourism.
AAI has been coordinating efforts with our local partner, the IPI Foundation, and One World Institute to provide relief to the fisherman whose livelihoods were affected. Residents of six villages or "barangays" received 5 kilos of rice, hygiene kits and medicines for each household.
The mission was a complete success due to the dedication of volunteers who worked hard for over a month to provide relief. Congratulations to an amazing team for a job well done!
