One Wichita State University Student Veteran, Ciaban Peterson, who has been actively advocating for veterans on campus was accepted into Student Veterans of America’s Leadership Institute in Washington DC, September 20-23. This is an honor that is extended to only 100 student veterans each year who are elected SVA Chapter Officers. These students are selected from some of the best performing schools across America.
Ciaban Peterson is a Senior at WSU studying Management Information Systems. He is a Marine (Veteran) and served from 2010-2015 and was deployed during Operation Enduring Freedom.
SVA's Leadership Institute is sponsored by Prudential and is the premier foundational leadership experience in the country for student veterans. It brings together the nation’s high-achieving Chapter Leaders for a multi-day, values based, leadership immersion program.
The concept behind the Leadership Institute is that long-term leadership success comes from an intimate knowledge of one’s core values and how they inform one’s leadership ethos. Attendees are mentored through this experience by some of the nation’s top leaders, business minds, and veterans’ advocates.
