Yesterday Milly and Tyler (two of our club captains) attended the first session of Beyond the pool program. They had multiple quest speakers with one of them being 5 time paralympian and ex MVC swimmer Elle Steele. Both of our club captains had a wonderful session and can’t wait for the next.

These photos may not be the best quality but that is because they are all from our MVC group chat. Photos our members took whilst watching from home and cheering on our athletes. Our club members could not have been prouder of our Olympic Trials team members, Marco, Tara and Sam. Well done on a great week. We know there has been some ups and downs but your courage and resilience is something that our swimmers will remember. We had three members who had 9 events between them. Some could not be swum due to illness but check out the results of the ones that were raced!

A very exciting night at the Australian Swimming Trials for MVC.

Firstly, well done to Tara Kinder for finishing 5th in the Women’s 200IM.

And of course Sam Williamson who qualified fastest for the Men’s 100BRS well under the Olympic qualifying time. What an incredible swim. Not only did Sam qualify for his first Olympics he is the 3rd fastest Australian in history and the quickest since 2013.

Well done we are proud of you both. Looking forward to Marco beginning his racing tomorrow and Tara continuing with the 100BRS.

2024 Australia Age Championships Day 9

The last day brings a fast bunch of performances! Eliza left nothing in the tank in her 100m freestyle and went sub 1 min, taking herself to the B final, placing 20th in Australia after the final swim. Great swim by Emily in her 200m backstroke, placing 12th, (was the 2nd reserve for the final). Also, huge effort by Keira in the 200m fly. Look at that form.πŸ‘ And finally, that bronze medal around Elizabeth's neck is pretty hard to come by.

Congratulations to everyone who has competed in the 2024 Age Nationals. You should be very proud of being here to compete and all you have achieved. Thanks to the parents and our board members for organising dinners, uniforms and club manual, and being here to support our athletes. Thanks to Adrian and Lex for your time and effort in coaching at the pool through the days and nights. Special thanks to our wonderful team managers Gabrielle and Chris for your up to date info with all the changes that happened. Finally a shout out to our amazing photographer Chris Kennedy for all the amazing action and set shots. πŸ‘

2024 Australia Age Championships Day 7

As these championships go on, our swimmers continue to show their confidence, resilience and competitiveness in the pool. Elizabeth put up a great swim in her 100m free. Then it was time for our breaststrokers to put on a show. Karine had an amazing swim in the 16yo 50m breaststroke which was close to her PB and Frances swam a PB in her 15yo 50m breaststroke. And our girls 13-17 4 x 50m freestyle relay shaved time off their entry time.

Congratulations to Noah and Jas on completing their 1st National Championships and we wish them well as they continue their way to Surf Life Saving Aussies 2024. The girls 13-17 Medley Relay was lit up by Bond's record breaking relay. 2024 Australia Age Championships Day 5

Another action-packed day for our athletes. Noah kicked the day off with a great swim in the 100m backstroke. Frances made her national debut (in an individual event) in the 50m freestyle and Jas powered through in her 50m breaststroke. Later in the day, Noah claimed another milestone in his 400m freestyle journey with a massive 7s drop. Elizabeth and Jas had a great swim in the 200m freestyle. Last but not least, Emily pulls out a massive effort in the girls 15yo 100m backstroke heats, with a PB powering her into the A final, and becoming the 10th fastest in Australia. 🌟 To conclude the night, our girls swam their hearts out in the girls 13-17 4Γ—100 free relay.

2024 Australia Age Championships Day 4

A full day of swimming with great performances in individual and relay events. Amelia and Emily were both close to their best in their 50m backstroke events. Noah continues his success with another PB in his 50m freestyle. Congratulations to Elizabeth with a superb swim in her 50m freestyle, with a new PB taking her into the B finals and placing 12th overall. The girls 15-16 Medley Relay was especially electric with three PBs combining to lift them to be the 3rd fastest Vic team and 9th in Australia.
