FunTeam Alberta is a non-profit organization that assists individuals and families in participating in less competitive and low cost sports. Adults, youth, children, and parents can participate in physical activities in an atmosphere of fun, cooperation and fair play. FunTeam is designed to guide volunteers in the organization and implementation of sport in their own neighborhood or community.

Nathan has been coaching with the Beaumont FunTeam Shinny Hockey group for EIGHT years now! Nathan is patient with the kids. He is very creative with his activities and new drills for the players spending time gathering supplies for the challenges. Nathan is extremely reliable and always goes above and beyond, usually he is the first to shovel off the outdoor rink if it needs it.

FunTeam Alberta is in need of volunteers for our Casino event this Sunday, February 4th and Monday, February 5th. The event takes place at the Starlite Casino in West Edmonton Mall. Anyone that is interested is asked to reach out to Ryan at [email protected] or by calling 780.490.0242.

It's all about the love of sport
It's rare that the nice weather doesn't have some folks excited. Well Beaumont Shinny Hockey has had to patiently wait for their outdoor ice to be ready due to the weather and FINALLY got the go ahead this past weekend.

Keep It FUN Interview Series - Episode 4: St. Albert FunTeam Soccer - Group Manager Rebecca Prudhomme
Spring FunTeam programming is just around the corner and one of our most popular groups, St. Albert FunTeam Soccer - KR Fun Team is gearing up for its biggest season yet! Group Manager Rebecca took some time to chat with us on why this program works for her family and her community while providing some insight into why her group is so successful.

The Drumheller FunTeam Hockey Club hosted their 18th Annual Outdoor Heritage Classic on Saturday January 21, 2023.
FunTeam groups from Didsbury, Kneehill, Stettler, Rosemary & Drumheller took part with a total of 12 teams playing in 6 games. Perfect weather along with excellent ice made for a memorable day for families and volunteers! 24 dozen hot dogs and cups of hot chocolate later has to mean it was a successful day! π

Keep It FUN Interview Series - Episode 3: Barrhead Fun Hockey - Group Group Managers Shawn and Penny Stephani
We had the pleasure to sit down with long time FunTeam Alberta volunteers and Barrhead FunTeam Hockey Group Managers Shawn and Penny Stephani. With their guideance, we are seeing generations of Town of Barrhead members transition from playing FunTeam hockey as a participant to enrolling their children in the program as as a parent years later.
