Nathan has been coaching with the Beaumont FunTeam Shinny Hockey group for EIGHT years now! Nathan is patient with the kids. He is very creative with his activities and new drills for the players spending time gathering supplies for the challenges. Nathan is extremely reliable and always goes above and beyond, usually he is the first to shovel off the outdoor rink if it needs it.

Hello FunTeam families!

FunTeam Alberta is in need of volunteers for our Casino event this Sunday, February 4th and Monday, February 5th. The event takes place at the Starlite Casino in West Edmonton Mall. Anyone that is interested is asked to reach out to Ryan at [email protected] or by calling 780.490.0242.

The following shifts require volunteers:

Sunday
Cashier: 6:30 pm - 3:30 am
Cashier: 6:30 pm - 3:30 am
Chip Runner: 6:30 pm - 3:30 am

Monday
Count Room: 11:30 pm - 3:30 am
Count Room: 11:30 pm - 3:30 am

It's rare that the nice weather doesn't have some folks excited. Well Beaumont Shinny Hockey has had to patiently wait for their outdoor ice to be ready due to the weather and FINALLY got the go ahead this past weekend.

After a successful pilot season, we are very excited to launch the SPIRIT jersey program with all of our FunTeam hockey groups! 🏒🤩

SPIRIT is an acronym for all of the charactertics that FunTeam Alberta celebrates when our members step on the ice to play or volunteer. The best thing is, it can stand for anything! Sportsmanship, Positivity, Inclusive, Respectful, Integrity, Teammate comes to mind right away.

We’ve been piloting our SPIRIT jersey program with Fun Team Hockey Stony Plain this season and the participants are loving it! 🏒

The recipient each week is cheered by their fellow teammates and are encouraged to follow the examples set by the jersey wearer.

The Drumheller FunTeam Hockey Club hosted their 18th Annual Outdoor Heritage Classic on Saturday January 21, 2023.

FunTeam groups from Didsbury, Kneehill, Stettler, Rosemary & Drumheller took part with a total of 12 teams playing in 6 games. Perfect weather along with excellent ice made for a memorable day for families and volunteers! 24 dozen hot dogs and cups of hot chocolate later has to mean it was a successful day! 🏒

We have a January Volunteer of the Month to recognize! 🥳

Along with the nominations we receive from the FunTeam communitiy, The FunTeam Alberta office will also be recognizing a deserving recipient of the Volunteer of the Month each month.

So this month we would like to recognize Lynne Erickson from Linaria FunTeam Hockey! Lynne is the Group Manager and has been in the role for the last 2 years. She is the heart of the group and we can't thank her enough for being such a dedicated ambassador for FunTeam. 💙

Named after our President and founder Randy Gregg, this award recognizes a FunTeam volunteer who has demonstrated the principles of FunTeam Alberta. The recipient is someone who has displayed leadership, sportsmanship, and dedication to supporting youth in their community.

We are now accpeting nominations for the 2023 Nicky Sereda Outstanding Participant Award! This award is used to recognize a FunTeam participant who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to the principles of FunTeam Alberta. The recipient is someone who has displayed sportsmanship and cooperation while being a strong role model for their peers.
