GOOGLE ISN’T THAT HELPFUL SOMETIMES, IS IT?

I just Googled “how to heal from IC naturally” - and the results were… pretty unhelpful… 🤨

- Follow an IC-Friendly Diet. … that’s BS. But we’ll talk more on that in another post.
- Pelvic Floor Exercises for Support. … that’s a non-negotiable but that has to be alongside all the nutritional stuff
- Stress Management for Symptom Relief. … another way of telling you it’s just stress and to “relax” or “breathe more”... 🙄🙄

If you’re someone struggling with IC or chronic UTI you’ll 100% already have tried that... If it worked you wouldn’t still be searching for answers on Google.

Sometimes that generic, page-one-of-Google stuff just isn’t going to get you the tailored and specific answers you’re looking for, which is why chatting to someone like me is far better 😄

🔬 "New tests may help those with persistent urinary tract infections”.

Well, yes but where can a normal person actually access these “new tests” because your local GP certainly doesn’t provide them. (Hint: I do).

🕵️ "Urinalysis is a common test that's done to check your overall health, to diagnose a medical condition or to monitor a medical condition”.

A handy definition but I’m guessing you’re waaaay past that stage. You want real answers!!

💊 "Standard urine tests used in GP surgeries and hospitals may not pick up all infections of the bladder so you may be prescribed antibiotics to see if they help.”

Nuking a suspected embedded or chronic UTI (cUTI) with antibiotics over and over is not enough. Here’s the thing…

An imbalance of “friendly” bacteria in the bladder has been associated with a multitude of disorders, including UTIs, cUTIs and interstitial cystitis (IC).

And antibiotics (while sometimes unavoidable) aren’t able to differentiate between the “good” bacteria and the “bad” bacteria.

They're not your only long-term solution.

Some of the steps I use with my clients include:

- Addressing any imbalances in the urinary microbiome (with PCR urinary testing and antimicrobials if appropriate)

- Supporting the immune system (so we’re less prone to infections)

- Reducing inflammation of the bladder lining

- Rebalancing the nervous system, and so much more.
