Your Body, your Baby, your decision.
In pregnancy we are presented with lots of challenges. Sometimes with language that we hear from opinions of others. Friends, family and even healthcare professionals all have their biased opinions..
But through fear of the unknown we take the information and believe it to be true and be our only choice.
This really is not the case at all, if anything ever feels scary or makes you feel nervous please do ask all of the questions around whatever has been presented to you as there is always more than one option with your individual scenario.
Ask more questions and make a choice that suits you and not somebody else's opinion. You can go away and think about your choice as it is your body your baby your decision!
We may be over half way through September, but it still feels like the month to get organised...
Birth prep! Calling all my dec/Jan even Feb due babies
💜Do you want a natural birth, or are you considering an epidural? Home birth, birthing center, or hospital? Take this month to discuss your options with your partner, doula & healthcare provider. A clear birth plan will help you feel more in control and ensure that your wishes are respected.
🧡With Christmas approaching, schedules can get hectic. By enrolling in a birthing class or course now, you'll be ahead of the game. These classes are invaluable for learning about the stages of labour, pain management techniques, and postpartum care. Plus, it’s a great way to meet other expectant parents!
💚Labour can be unpredictable, but your response to it doesn’t have to be. Begin practicing relaxation techniques like deep breathing, visualization, and meditation. These tools can help you stay calm and focused during labour, leading to a smoother birthing experience.
I've a brand new workshop, a little add on or refresher from your regular antenatal classes, more in-depth knowledge around how to have a better birth for you, using HypnoBirthing, movement and breathing for pregnancy, labour and birth.
For more details please jump into my DMs. My next available class is at the Ash tree yurt in Norwich on 23rd November

One 2 ones, I've recently began to support people one to one in their pregnancy, birth preparation and in their postnatal period which has been an honour and wonderful to get to know them more on a deeper level, their needs and wants. They are at the centre of everything we learn. If you prefer a more intimate class or may feel a group class is too overwhelming, I'm here to hear you, see you and support you in your journey. It can even be an add on to your regular group class, especially for birth preparation or postnatal support.
With a one-to-one session you will learn so much more than a normal class, this will be an individual session to work on what you and your body needs within your pregnancy or postpartum. We use yoga strengthening stretches preparing your body and mind for birth & each trimester, postnatally up to two years. We use breathwork to help your mind and your body and overcome any overwhelm, stresses or strains creating a complete relaxation for you.
If this is something you might need or have interest in, please do pop me a DM or message me '212' & I'll we can have a chat.

Why prepare your pelvis?
Meet 'the Wander' of Elvis the pelvis!
The amazing Pelvis plays a crucial role during pregnancy & childbirth. While many people think of the pelvis as a fixed boney structure, it actually consists of the two hip bones, sacrum & tailbone. The pelvis also has joints; the p***c symphysis in the front of the pelvis and sacroiliac joints in the back. These allow the pelvis to be mobile. In pregnancy it important to look after your pelvis and get to understand it & how incredibly amazing it really is, allow the pelvis to move, strengthen, stretch & create space fir birth. We have a hormone called relaxin which supports these movements.
Ensuring the pelvis has mobility & that the supporting muscles have strength can potentially make the birthing process smoother. By incorporating specific exercises and poses into your routine, joining a Pregnancy yoga class you can release tension in various parts of your body, leading to a more balanced pelvis & pelvic floor...... This might even aid in smoother labour progression 🫶✨
I teach so many different poses, stretches, & balences to help support your pelvis with in Pregnancy. We can also to help any aches, Pelvic girdle pain, sciatica, back pain, restless legs..... So much more. We look at choices around labour & birth positionings how to stay calm connect with yourself & your baby in our gorgeous Mummy to be centered classes.
If you would like to join us at The Ash Tree Yurt in Norwich, Willow Centre in Cringleford or Brooke Methodist Church pop into my DMs 🙏🌿

It’s World Breastfeeding Week. I’ve shared this post now four years in a row now as it remains relevant. One year I hope I won’t have to. I’ll become a cat or running shoe researcher instead.
This week was designed to protect and support breastfeeding. To highlight why we need to invest in mothers, families, babies and the future. Yet for many, this week just makes them want to shout and throw things because breastfeeding certainly isn’t something to celebrate for them.
For far too many, any mention of breastfeeding reminds them of pain, anxiety & a lack of support. It reminds them of their determination to do what had been promised as simple, enjoyable and the ‘right’ way to feed their baby. Determination which slowly turned to desperation when it didn’t work for them.
It reminds mothers of the heartbreak they felt as they stopped breastfeeding before they were ready – it wasn’t just about the promised health benefits but the feeling that their body wasn’t doing what it was meant to do, and the fact they just really wanted to do it.
But this pain is the reason we continue. This week is not about telling everyone they should breastfeed... but more about insisting that those with power step up and actually do something about investing in making a better future for the next generation.
At the moment, rather than protecting breastfeeding, the government doesn’t invest properly in the services, support & expertise that would actually enable breastfeeding – despite reports finding it could save the NHS money.
Instead, cuts to services take away volunteer groups and funding of breastfeeding specialists. What should be an easily fixable issue can turn turned into months of physical pain - and a lifetime of continued emotional pain.
The simple truth is that we set women up to fail. Most breastfeeding problems are created by a society that is not breastfeeding friendly: the actions of others are responsible for poor breastfeeding rates & trauma.
This week is about recognising that hurt and calling for change. I wish we didn’t have to have it. I certainly wish that not so many women and families were hurt by it.

📣Calling all birth partners📣🙋
.....Mumas you may need to tag them!!
✨Are you feeling a little unsure & nervous about the birth of your baby & how maybe how you can support your birthing muma?
✨Do you want to provide support and help her achieve the birth she really desires?
The BEST news is that you can✨
✨I've put together 5 easy peasy tools for YOU the birth partner to help during labour:
1. Muscle Clenching 😣
Take a look at muma’s face. Is it tight, does it look clenched?
Notice her jaw and throat. If it’s tightly closed or clenched, this will directly impact how tight and clenched the rest of her body is, particularly her cervix, which needs to open and soften in order for baby to come down through the birth canal & be born.
🌿Gently encourage her to relax her jaw. If she’s not in a mood to be talked to, gently place your hand or fingers on the area that is tense to help remind her to relax. Encourage slow breathing which can also help.☺️
2. Sound out surges with her🗣️
Try reminding her to feel the freedom to sound out her surges, if she wants🌿. This sometimes can be unnerving for Mumas who “don’t want to make others feel uncomfortable,” so help open the door for her by sounding out the surge sounds with her. Low moaning, groaning, or “ohmmm” noises may really help her relax and let go. It may also encourage humour & oxytocin..the love hormone!🥰
3. Get her in the water💦
Water is AMAZING it has a unique way of helping a muma cope with the intensities of her labour. Whether it’s a shower with focused pressure at various points on her back or belly, or the bath-tub, the water really helps a woman relax, and may help you relax too. 🛀
4. Keep things interesting✨
Just like in relationships, variety is a great thing & it’s the same with labour. Why not every 30 or so mins, suggest to muma she makes a position change.🤰🧎🏼♀️ If she’s been leaning against the wall or the bed, suggest she walk or take low squats. If she’s been in the water, suggest she lean backwards against the loo.🚽 These subtle shifts in her movement help her from getting stuck in labour & bring baby closer to birth.
