A Planning Meeting held on 06-10-2022 @ Directorate Karachi as a follow up on the detail plans shared by the Core HQ Malir Team regarding providing emergency medical services to the delegates in case during scheduled IDEAS 2022 to be held in Karachi.

It was chaired by Director Health Services Karachi, Dr. A. Hameed Jumani and his team. The participants included representatives of Rescue 1122 and DHOs from District East & South.

A Meeting on update on Micro plan preparations against Dengue Fever Case Response in Karachi was held on 06-10-2022 @ the office of Karachi Directorate.

It was chaired by the Director Health Services Karachi and was attended by all DHOs and VBD FPs of Karachi Division.

It was also attended by Deputy Director VBD, at Karachi Dr. Ali Asghar.

It was advised as per Ministers directives that all Covid related field staff may be utilized for Dengue Case Response and the HR in the Microplans should reflect any other volunteers received to the districts and should reach this office in the set timelines positively for submission to the concerned quarters.

A consultative meeting on developing a GIS based software on Dengue Surveillance and Case Response through Inter Provincial support extended by Monitoring & Evaluation, Urban Health Unit, Lahore, Punjab, held at 06-10-2022 @ EOC.

The meeting was co chaired by Director Health Services, Karachi, Dr. A. Hameed Jumani & Senior Specialist M&E Urban Unit Punab.

It was attended by Mr. Iqbal Rehmani from Click, representatives from DG Health Office @ Hyderabad & VBD Team.

The possibilities of strengthening the existing VSS were also explored, and decisions for way forward taken accordingly.

An Emergency Meeting on Dengue Fever, chaired by Honourable Minister for Health & Population Welfare, GoS Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuo and Co- Chaired by Mr. Nasir Shah, Provincial Minister Sindh for Local Bodies & Mr. Murtaza Wahab Administrator Karachi was held at Minister Health Office, Karachi on 4-10-2022.

A presentation was delivered by VBD team on current Situation and interventions taken so far on Dengue & Malaria in Sindh with special focus on Karachi Division.

The Director Health Services Karachi, Dr. A. Hameed Jumani attending the same meeting informed the efforts taken by the directorate to synergize the Dengue Case Response activities through developing sustainable coordination mechanisms between DHOs, VBD Program and District Administration.

A coordination Meeting on preparation regarding upcoming IDEAS 2022 scheduled to be held in Karachi during the month of November 2022 was held at Core Head Quarter, Malir Cantt on 3-10-2022.

It was organized by Brig. Iftikhar, Brig. Dr. Nadeem & Col. Rashid and was attended by Director Health Services Karachi, Dr. A. Hameed Jumani and his team.

A detail plan focussed on coordinated efforts chalked out between the Armed Forces and Health Department for medical & emergency assistance for the delegates attending the event was shared and reviewed.

A meeting was held under the Chair of Secretary Health, Mr. Zulfuqar Ali Shah, with Mr. Naveed Ahsan, Senior Specialist Monitoring & Evaluation, the Urban Health Unit, Lahore, Punjab, on 05-10-2022 at EOC, Karachi.

The discussion evolved around strengthening the existing dashboard for dengue technically through establishing GIS, integrated dashboard, satellite imaging etc.

The meeting was also attended by the Director Health Services Karachi, Dr. A. Hameed Jumani who along with the Monitoring unit at DG Health Office @ Hyderabad via zoom actively participated in the discussion after a brief presentation made by the Punjab team.

It was decided in the end to have a follow up meeting on 06-10-2022 with the technical team members of VBD, DG Health Office, Directorate Office and the representative from Click. Me. Iqbal Rehmani.

A follow up meeting with the Medical Relief Team members arriving from Jakarta, Indonesia was arranged at the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia which was Chaired by the Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. June Kuncoro Hadiningrat and Co Chaired by the Director Health Services Karachi, Dr. A. Hameed Jumani.

The Medical Relief Team coordinators joined the meeting through Zoom and discussed in detail regarding composition of the teams, hard hit areas of Mirpurkhas, prevailing diseases, available services / human resources, stock positions, gaps in services for maternal and neonatal etc.

The Director Health expressed his gratitude to the Government of Indonesia for their gesture and ensured maximum facilitation for the visiting Team through arranging decent accommodations and providing mobility support to the teams during their stay in Mirpurkhas.

The respective DHOs of district Karachi & Mirpurkhas also participated in the meeting.

The Director Health Services Karachi, Dr. A. Hameed Jumani co chairing with Dr. Talib Lashari, Technical Advisor, CIP FP 2030, a Quarterly Progress Meeting focussed on Integration of Family Planning Services through Primary Health Care setups in Peri Urban Area of Karachi.

Vital decisions were taken to strengthen the ongoing FP services through sustainable intervention and increase the declining CPR especially in Peri Urban Areas of Karachi.
