Year 3 student ZHANG Yuhui, who reads Double Majors in Quantitative Finance and Economics and Minors in German Language Studies and Business Analytics, had the opportunity to broaden her intellectual and global outlook when she went on an exchange programme at ETH Zurich.

She says, “I wanted to put myself in a totally unfamiliar environment, observe how I react, and get to know myself better.”

𝗠𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀

In a bid to glean insights into risk management during trading, Year 1 student TEOH Tze Tzun, who is reading a double degree in Mathematics and Computer Science, and his interdisciplinary team, decided to apply their knowledge in mathematics, data analytics and economics to ‘invest’ in the stock market.

Their solution, which emerged as one of the finalists in the CGS-CIMB National Investment Challenge 2022, cast light on how investment risks can be reduced and profits increased.

Tze Tzun says, “I aspire to apply my mathematical skills for positive change.”
