𝑁𝑒𝑤 𝑖𝑛 𝑁𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑚𝑏𝑒𝑟: monthly class themes! Every month we’ll pick a theme and base our classes around it!
Classes in November will focus on the neck, shoulders, and upper back. Almost all of us tend to hold the most tension in this area so these classes will be great for those who work in an office or find themselves frequently sitting.
Join us November 4th at for our first classes! Or Sunday, November 7th at for an extra juicy Restorative class in the salt cave 🤗

Can’t believe it’s officially been 𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑦𝑒𝑎𝑟 since I completed my yoga teacher training! 🤯 It’s been a bumpy ride over the last year but I absolutely adore getting to share this practice with others (especially with those who may have never tried!) 🙏🏻
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the support with not only attending classes but liking and sharing my content.
Catch me every Thursday night in Alden (Wellness in the Village, LLC) & every Sunday morning in Amherst (Serenity Salt Cave WNY).

This one is for my lady yogis! Not feeling so hot today; day 2 of my period is usually full of cramps 😣 but I thankfully had some time to squeeze in a quick restorative practice 🙏🏻 Here’s a couple poses I incorporated!
Pose #1- 𝑆𝑢𝑝𝑝𝑜𝑟𝑡𝑒𝑑 𝑅𝑒𝑐𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑒𝑑 𝐵𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑑 𝐴𝑛𝑔𝑙𝑒 (𝑓𝑡. 𝑟𝑖𝑐𝑒 ℎ𝑒𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑝𝑎𝑑 🙌🏻). Love love love this pose for relieving cramps. It’s hard to tell in the photo but I am reclining on my bolster here which allows me to relax even more 😌
Pose #2- 𝑊𝑖𝑑𝑒 𝐿𝑒𝑔𝑔𝑒𝑑 𝐹𝑜𝑟𝑤𝑎𝑟𝑑 𝐹𝑜𝑙𝑑. I made a little ramp with my blocks & bolster and used my blanket as a pillow. So wonderful on my low back (I normally would have also been sitting up on a blanket but didn’t have another one handy 🤪)
Save this for future reference and feel free to reach out to me with any questions ♡︎
Happy 🐪 Day! For those of you that don't know, I also work at a dance & fitness studio in Kenmore (The Fit Physique)! Our Fall schedule starts NEXT WEEK already and I will be starting a beginner yoga class!
We will be starting from the very beginning, working on the basics and foundations of yoga. This is great for those who have never practiced yoga before or for those who are interested in going back to the basics and learning proper alignment & techniques.
Message me if interested! 😍❤

“I am already a huge fan of the Vinyasa and Restorative Yoga classes that Jess offers, so when she started offering Salt Cave yoga, I knew I had to try it! From the first moment I walked into the salt cave I felt more relaxed. The warm glow of the salt cave walls, the crunch of the salt covered floor under my feet, and the salt mist that filled the air throughout the class transported me to a place that felt otherworldly.
Jess guided the class through a wonderful Sunday morning yoga practice that made me feel extremely relaxed, refreshed and ready to tackle the coming week. Not only was the yoga class amazing, I felt the benefits of the salt cave right away. The mist that filled the air throughout the class stimulated my sinuses and made me feel invigorated.
I can’t wait to attend my next salt cave yoga session, and recommend it to anyone who wants to start their week off strong.” -Tina

✨ This week’s featured pose: Matsyasana (or fish pose 🐟) ✨
This is one of my absolute 𝑓𝑎𝑣𝑜𝑟𝑖𝑡𝑒 poses; using props allows you to experience a backbend you might normally not be able to achieve. Fish pose encourages an opening in the chest and throat; two areas that play a part in vulnerability 😉
Some amazing benefits:
♡︎ stretches the muscles between the ribs
♡︎ expands the throat and chest
♡︎ stimulates ab muscles
♡︎ encourages self-confidence & emotional growth
Tips:
☞︎ place blocks in a T shape
☞︎ slowly lower down to rest on the blocks (the vertical block should hit mid-back while the horizontal block should be under the head)
☞︎ legs can either extend out or take the feet as we wide as the mat and let the knees fall into each other
☞︎ allow the arms to rest down, palms face up
☞︎ if blocks are not available, rolled up blankets can also be used
🚨 𝑃𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑠𝑒 𝑝𝑟𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑐𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑠𝑢𝑝𝑝𝑜𝑟𝑡𝑖𝑣𝑒 𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑖𝑜𝑛; 𝑓𝑖𝑠ℎ 𝑝𝑜𝑠𝑒 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑡 𝑎𝑛𝑦 𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑝𝑠 𝑖𝑠 𝑑𝑖𝑓𝑓𝑖𝑐𝑢𝑙𝑡 𝑡𝑜 𝑚𝑎𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑎𝑖𝑛 𝑐𝑜𝑟𝑟𝑒𝑐𝑡 𝑎𝑙𝑖𝑔𝑛𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑒𝑥𝑡𝑟𝑒𝑚𝑒 𝑒𝑥𝑡𝑒𝑛𝑠𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑛𝑒𝑐𝑘 𝑐𝑎𝑛 𝑐𝑎𝑢𝑠𝑒 𝑠𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑜𝑢𝑠 ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑚 𝑡𝑜 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑏𝑜𝑑𝑦
P.S. stay tuned for some exciting announcements! 😍
✨ Monday Mantra: I allow myself to be vulernable ✨
Today’s mantra is inspired by Brené Brown and her new(ish) podcast, Unlocking Us. If you are not familiar with her work, I highly suggest checking her out (shoutout to Michelle Anna for getting me hooked). She is a social worker who studies shame, vulnerability, and empathy and has a plethora of books, podcast episodes, and TED talks (all of which are amazing).
Vulnerability is one of the most difficult aspects of life, at least for me personally. It is so scary to show up, acknowledge your faults, lay your heart out, and be seen but it is the 𝑘𝑒𝑦 to breaking free of shame and creating deeper, more fulfilling relationships.
This week I encourage you to check out her work and see if you can be a little more vulnerable in your relationships 😌
Have a wonderful week, friends! ❤️

✨Tuesday Tip! A staple pose in many yoga classes: Adho Mukha Svanasana (or downward facing dog) 🐶
Some amazing benefits:
♡︎ stretches the shoulders, calves, & hamstrings
♡︎ calms the mind
♡︎ tones the arms
♡︎ stimulates blood circulation
Tips:
☞︎ spread the fingers wide & press evenly through the knuckles to avoid dumping weight in the wrists
☞︎ send the sitting bones toward the ceiling
☞︎ hug the abs up & in
☞︎ spiral the biceps towards the sides of the room to keep shoulders down from the ears
☞︎ bend the knees if the heels cannot reach the floor
Have a great week, friends! 💗
Happy International Day of Yoga! 🧘🏻♀️🙏🏻
In lieu of a Monday mantra, let’s reflect on what yoga means to you. If you don’t currently practice, maybe just reflect on what you’re grateful for 😌
To me, yoga is so much more than just the physical practice, it’s a way of life. Yoga reminds me to be patient, kind, and present. It’s also given me a deeper appreciation for my body and has helped to diminish negative self talk about my own body image.
Has yoga helped you? ♡︎
❣️I am ʙᴇʏᴏɴᴅ excited to announce starting Tuesday (6/22) we will be moving our vinyasa Wellness in the Village classes ᴏᴜᴛᴅᴏᴏʀs! Classes will be across the street at the Alden Community Garden 🪴 located right behind Alden State Bank.
I am incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this happen!! I cannot wait to see you out there ☀️🍃

𝑃.𝑆. 𝑅𝑒𝑠𝑡𝑜𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑣𝑒 𝑐𝑙𝑎𝑠𝑠𝑒𝑠 𝑤𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑡𝑎𝑘𝑒 𝑝𝑙𝑎𝑐𝑒 𝑖𝑛𝑠𝑖𝑑𝑒 𝑎𝑡 𝑊𝑒𝑙𝑙𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑠 𝑖𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑉𝑖𝑙𝑙𝑎𝑔𝑒
Tuesday tip: one of my 𝑓𝑎𝑣𝑜𝑟𝑖𝑡𝑒 ways to drop into the present moment is to pause and sit in Sukhasana (or easy pose) 😌
Focusing on my breath and becoming aware of how my body feels is a crucial part of my day. It reminds me to slow down, re-center, and take things one step at a time.
Tips:
☞︎ sit on the edge of a folded blanket to encourage length in the spine
☞︎ sit with your back against the wall for a little more stability
☞︎ relax the shoulders
☞︎ release the jaw
☞︎ 𝑃𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑠𝑒 𝑛𝑜𝑡𝑒, this is not the only way to drop into the present moment. Like most people, I struggle with just sitting still and my daily present moment generally does not look like this. If this is something that works for you, ᴀᴡᴇsᴏᴍᴇ, please keep on going, but if not, don’t stress yourself out! Your present moment will look different than any one else’s and that’s okay ❤️
✨ Monday Mantra: I allow myself to be present ✨
One of my favorite reminders 🥰 This week see if you can take a couple minutes a day to just ‘be’. Focus on your breath, focus on what it feels like to be in your physical body or anything that brings you into the present moment. By the end of the week notice if it’s made any difference in your life; maybe you’ll find you’re a little more calm, or maybe you notice little details that you otherwise wouldn’t have discovered.
However you go about it, I hope you take the time to be a little more present this week 💖
✨ Monday Mantra: I acknowledge my faults and forgive myself ✨
𝐴 𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑓𝑒𝑐𝑡 𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑡𝑟𝑎 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑚𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑤𝑒𝑒𝑘 𝑎𝑠 𝐼’𝑚 𝑝𝑜𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑜𝑛 𝑎 𝑇𝑢𝑒𝑠𝑑𝑎𝑦 🤪
It’s OK to realize you have many faults. One of mine? Perfectionism. I have struggled with this just about my whole life and it is damn exhausting. It wasn’t even until a couple years ago that I realized I constantly strived to be perfect in everything that I did. And wow does that create so much unnecessary stress 🥴
It’s not an easy road to come to terms with your faults but it is so necessary. Release that s**t. It’s too heavy to carry. Show up for yourself with grace. Start to change that inner dialogue even if it’s just one small change at a time. Or maybe write down 5 things that you forgive yourself for. Whatever it is just start somewhere. You deserve it. ❤️
Happy Saturday! This week’s featured pose: Parivrtta Sukhasana (or revolved easy pose) 😍
Any yoga pose would go hand in hand with our self-care theme but I especially 𝑙𝑜𝑣𝑒 this one. Some amazing benefits:
♡︎ helps reduce stress & anxiety
♡︎ stimulates abdominal organs & assists with digestion & detoxification
♡︎ increases flexibility in the spine
Tips:
☞︎ sit on the edge of a folded blanket to promote length in the spine
☞︎ weight should be evenly distributed across sit bones
☞︎ inhale, lift both arms, relax the shoulders & find even more length in the spine
☞︎ exhale, moving from upper body gently rotate to the right
☞︎ place left hand on knee & right hand gently behind
☞︎ gaze can be kept forward or gently to the side
🚨Please do not force the twist or practice if you have spinal injuries 🚨
Have a wonderful weekend, my friends, and don't forget to practice the other side! 🥰❤️
✨ Monday Mantra: My well-being is my top priority ✨
Take care of yourselves, my friends! You can’t pour from an empty cup.
☀︎︎ Sit in the sun
☀︎︎ Drink some water
☀︎︎ Take a walk
Enjoy your Memorial Day Monday 😌❤️
Happy Saturday! Our featured pose this week: Virabhadrasana II (or Warrior II) ✨
Some amazing benefits:
♡︎ strengthens legs
♡︎ improves balance and stability
♡︎ opens chest and hips
♡︎ grounding
Tips:
☞︎ front toes face forward, back foot parallel to back edge of mat (or a little less if that’s more comfortable)
☞︎ front heel in line with back arch
☞︎ bend the front knee as much as you comfortably can (without moving over the ankle)
☞︎ weight evenly distributed between both feet
☞︎ lengthen the tailbone down
☞︎ hug the abs in
☞︎ shoulders stack over the hips
As always, don’t forget to practice the other side!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, my warriors! 💖

Take that risk, get uncomfortable, and if you fail? Dust those shoulders off and try again! Believe in ʏᴏᴜ. You got this 💖
