Hi guys! 🙋🏻‍♀️ Ready for our Tuesday around the world? 🌍 we sure are! Today we are taking you to a very magical place: ✨ Istanbul, Turkey. ✨ Istanbul's location is unique: it lays one foot in Europe and one in Asia. It counts 13.9 million people! If you have the chance to visit, you definitively have to visit the Grand Bazaar, a market that started in 1461 and has over 5000 stalls and covers 60 streets! Instanbul has also the third oldest subway in the world, it was built in 1875. Instanbul was indeed the capital city of many empires... but currently, it's not the capital city of Turkey! Do you know which one is it today? Comment below! So, what do you think? Would you spend some time in Instanbul? If the answer is yes, good news! Hello! Today we are going to answer a very frequently asked question: Can you work in the US if you are on a student visa? The answer is no and yes. First off, in order to be in good academic standing, international students need to be FULL TIME at all times (except for the Summer Semester, which is optional). The answer is no because students on an F1 visa are not allowed to work outside of campus, and it's yes because they are allowed to work up to 20 hours at their own university. However, usually the salary provided is not sufficient to be financially independent and you will still need a sponsor. However, you may work in your Curriculum Practical Training (CPT). This means that you can do an internship(paid or unpaid), as long as one of your classes requires an internship. However, if you engage in a paid CPT internship, you will have less time to use for your OPT (Optional Practical Training). The OPT is one year AFTER your graduation where you are allowed to work legally in the US without a working visa. If you did a paid CPT for 6 months, you will get 6 months of OPT. If you need more info, contact us!

Hello everyone! Here we are again talking about Chicago! Today we want to present to you an interesting fact about Chi-Town, that you probably didn't know. The Chicago River flows... backward! This bizarre but at the same time awesome result was achieved in 1900 thanks to incredible engineering work. I know, you are asking yourself "why?", well, this way the sewage is diverted from Lake Michigan's freshwater supply. Pretty cool, isn't it?

Did you know that Tokyo is the largest metropolitan city in the entire world!? 🌃 It counts over 36 million people. 😯 Tokyo is a great city for tax free shopping 🛍. If you are into fashion, you have to visit the Harajuku district, where you can find alternative street fashion. If you are more of a foodie than a fashionista, don't worry: Tokyo has the most top-rated restaurants in the world. How can't we mention cherry blossoms, symbol of Japan? 🌸 If you want to see those gorgeous trees, you should visit Japan around April. Did you know that NEIU has a partner university in Tokyo? Which use to be called “Sears Tower” It held the title of tallest building in the world for 25 years! 😮Now it’s number 3, still very impressive. The coolest thing about the Willis Tower is the ledge (swipe left! ⬅️): the ledge is a series of all glass balconies which allow you to see the street below you and feel like you are levitating above Chi-Town!

Hi guys! We decided to start exploring new places around the world with you, since during these times we really miss traveling and exploring. We want to show you beautiful cities that you might not know yet! Today, we start by introducing you to the beautiful town of Lucca, Tuscany (in Italy). Lucca is a real-life testimony of past times and it is only about 40 minutes away from Florence! Its story starts in Roman times, continuing through the Middle Ages on to the Napoleonic era and finally to the Risorgimento. Locals are extremely proud of the broad, high walls that are a symbol of the city. The walls surround the entire city and they are a lovely place to walk, run, stop for a picnic! Needless to say, food is delicious in Lucca and if you find yourself there, don’t forget to stop in a local trattoria and ask for “Tordelli Lucchesi”, a typical pasta dish kind of similar to ravioli, filled with beef (and much more) and served with Ragù, the famous Italia meat sauce. Look it up and find out more information! We recommend you to go and visit Lucca…you only need one day to see it all!
