We are back at it again with our 6th NEIU Annual Homecoming Dance! Come join us on Friday, September 16th (7:00pm - 10:00pm).

The theme for this year is “Black Carpet”. — Ease on down the road to the Black Carpet Event; Invite your friends and come have fun with us! This years Homecoming will be held at CCICS (South Campus). The address is 700 E Oakwood Blvd Chicago, Illinois 60653.

There will be a party bus for transportation. The bus pickup location is the Nest (3659 W Bryn Mawr Avenue Chicago Illinois, 60659). The bus will return back to the Nest after the event concludes. Transportation is only for NEIU students. The bus will depart at 6:15pm.

Students must RSVP if transportation is needed. Spots are limited! The link is in our bio (must use NEIU email to access Google form).

The price is FREE for NEIU students (with ID), then prices vary from $3-$5 depending on the category you fall in (see flyer for details).

Historically created to celebrate the success of our NEIU graduates from the Black, African American & African Diasporas — This semester's BGR will take place on Fri, May 6, 2022 from 6:00pm - 9:00pm, at the NEIU Carruthers Center for Inner City Studies (CCICS), located at 700 E Oakwood Blvd, Chicago, IL 60653

We will provide entertainment, a salute to our graduates & graduating student reflections

SHYRICE HOWELL — An NEIU Junior, majoring in Accounting and running for the Student Trustee position. If elected as Student Trustee, I want students to know that I am a leader who prioritizes C.A.R.E., and I’m able to be a voice for all. My acronym C.A.R.E. means the following:

- CULTIVATE more collaboration with student organizations.

- ADVOCATE for students needs academically, physically, mentally and financially.

- REACHING OUT to promote leadership while encouraging students to recognize their full potential.

- ENSURING all student voices are heard, and action is initiated.

Those who need (or would like) transportation from the North Campus, a bus will depart The Nest at Northeastern Illinois University for the event at 5:00pm and bring you back after the event — FOOD WILL BE PROVIDED

Special guest artist, e nina jay has asked that participants bring their own poetry, writings, thoughts, and creative expressions to the event as there will be opportunities to share your voice (if you are so moved)

April is Poetry Month. The Jacob H. Carruthers Center for Inner City Studies (CCICS) is excited to host its Fourth Annual Poetry Slam, themed "Together We Heal; Together We Rise," from 6:00 - 8:30 pm on Thursday, April 14, in person at CCICS — Prizes will be awarded.

We are holding auditions for the best and brightest talent NEIU has to offer — Sign up HERE (https://bit.ly/3ImFFy4) to audition on one of the three dates:

Tues, March 22 👉 2-4 p.m (via Zoom)
Wed, March 23 👉 2-4 p.m (Main Campus, Recital Hall)
