January is National Human Trafficking Prevention Month. Many survivors have shared about various ways that their trafficking experience intersected with both local transit and long-distance buses, either during the recruitment phase, during their exploitation and/or when they were able to exit. If you see something, please say something. If you ever have a problem on the bus or feel unsafe in any way, the bus driver is there to help. If a fellow passenger appears to be in an uncomfortable situation, ask if they are ok or need any help. If you are not comfortable doing this, report it to the bus driver. City of Fresno, California

Traffickers need to be held accountable for their crimes! Note: traffickers don’t have a specific look or are not all male. This trafficker was a “she.” Thanks to all involved in getting some justice for the victims in this case.

Thank you Councilmember Esparza for supporting the efforts of the anti-trafficking community!

Human trafficking is a critical issue both nationally and here in our community. Today, we were proud to sponsor a proclamation which proclaims the month of January 2022 as National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month in the City of Fresno. We presented the proclamation to Fresno EOC Sanctuary and Support Services, and Central Valley Against Human Trafficking along with a number of other community organizations that are doing this much-needed work on a daily basis.
