Pride parade will be rain or shine. Unfortunately, the Dragon Train cannot be out in the rain. But, we will March on anyway. Bring your umbrella and meet in the MState parking lot at 1:30.
Parade is still on as of now. We will make a call about the Dragon Train at 12:30. We would still love you to come and March if the parade is a go. Bring your best weather gear. You can meet us at the MState parking lot at 1:30 if this is the case. Stay tuned for further updates.
️🌈 KNOW BEFORE YOU GO ️🌈
We are excited to welcome everyone to our Pride celebrations. We encourage you to use the buddy system and be aware of your surroundings. Here are a few tips before 2023 FM Summer Pride:
❤️ Safety
We have safety precautions in place. That being said, if you see something, say something. Event staff and volunteers will be in shirts with the FM Pride logo, or look for a security staff member. Stay in groups and be aware of your surroundings.
In the case of an emergency or life threatening situation, call 911.
🧡 Hydration
Depending on the event, beverages may be available for sale. Some events may allow outside water bottles (Pride in the Park & Parade). If you are feeling overheated, look for a sheltered area that provides shade, or let an FM Pride volunteer know if you need extra assistance.
💛 Travel Plans - Pride in the Park
There will be plenty of parking at Bluestem Center for the Arts. If you are taking public transportation, we will have a shuttle picking up at Azool Hornbachers and bringing people to the event. This option is not a park and go, it’s for those using the public bus system.
Happy Pride week! Come and join us at Pride in the Park from 11-4 on Saturday and the Pride Parade on Sunday at 2. Check out the pride guide for all your event needs. Want to hang out with us at pride in the park or March in the pride parade with the dragon family? Contact Erienne at [email protected]

Happy Pride, y'all. Now let's get to work and celebrate.
It’s all happening. Mark your calendars and prepare to celebrate with us.
IMPORTANT Announcement
✨please read and share✨
Pride is about the PEOPLE. No matter where we celebrate, it's about us. It's about advocating for our people, impacting change, being present, being visible and being proud.
We are moving Pride in the Park and the Parade to Moorhead. 🥳 Registration for both events opens Monday, May 22 at 9 a.m. The Parade is free to participate in.
Many factors went into this decision, but the number one reason and most important factor was the safety of our community. Moorhead is excited to welcome us with open arms as a safe haven for everyone.
With that said... we BELONG in North Dakota and WE ARE NOT leaving. We will still hold events in private event spaces in the community where many of us work and live. It's more important than ever to advocate for our community, stand up for people who were and continue to be targeted by hateful legislation and come together to protect and celebrate.
WE ARE HERE TO STAY.
Hang out with the greater LGBTQIA+ community!
Are you ready for Spring?
Come dance with us - All ages welcome!

Pronouns Are Little Words that Make a Big Difference The practice of being intentional about using pronouns – and asking others about the pronouns they use – is all about respect.
A message from President Anne:
MSUM Students and Colleagues,
Today, on International Transgender Day of Visibility, I write to explicitly express support for and solidarity with MSUM’s LGBTQ+ community and ask you to join me in visibly supporting our LGBTQ+ colleagues, friends, and neighbors.
Such expressions of support are always important. They feel especially important today, given the attacks on LGBTQ rights in state legislatures across our country: the American Civil Liberties Union is currently tracking more than 400 anti-LGBTQ bills in the United States, many of which explicitly target the trans community. Although not all of these bills will become law, they all cause harm to LGBTQ people.
There has also been an increase in hate crimes targeting the LGBTQ+ community. If you or someone you know has experienced an act of hate or anti-LGBTQ bias, you can report it to MSUM’s Bias Incident Response Team. Students can also report bias incidents directly to the Dean of Students Office; employee concerns can be reported to MSUM’s Human Resources Office.
MSUM is committed to creating a safe and inclusive community for our students, employees, and campus visitors. We are also committed to providing educational resources and support for those who identify as LGBTQ+ and/or strive to be allies and advocates. Our Rainbow Dragon Center is an excellent source of information and support.
I invite you to join me in showing visible support for our LGBTQ+ community by wearing or displaying a Rainbow Dragon Pride button or sticker, available free from our colleagues in Marketing and Communications. Free buttons and stickers can be ordered here.
Thank you for upholding MSUM’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Together, we can ensure MSUM is a safe and welcoming campus—and serve as an example to communities beyond our campus.
With Dragon Pride,
Anne
