Concordia Language Villages launches new Korean language-learning campus in Minnesota!

“This is a space where we cultivate a love of language, a love of Korean language, a love of Korea,” said Dr. Dafna Zur, dean of the Korean language village and director of the Center for East Asian Studies at Stanford University. “It's a place where you can learn from scratch. And it's a place where we encourage every single villager (camper) who comes to find their voice — and to find themselves in Korean, regardless of where they come from.”

Then Vs. Now 💛🏈

Concordia students Lydia Repnow ‘27, Lynn Ngaima ‘27, and Iqra Hassan ‘26 were selected as Phillips Scholars for addressing community problems, helping others, and pursuing knowledge.

The scholarship offers 10 students across 15 Minnesota private colleges the opportunity to develop skills in leadership and problem-solving, as well as funding for a summer project focusing on an underserved community in the state. The program is funded by the Jay & Rose Phillips Family Foundation.

As a third-generation Cobber, Elizabeth Naugle ’25 has found family at Concordia in her volleyball team and English education cohort.

W. Scott Olsen, an English professor at Concordia College and an acclaimed photographer, is making headlines with his new projects.

Capturing the quiet beauty of early morning hours, his latest work, "The 6|7 Project," will be on display at the Spirit Room in Fargo from Aug. 5 to Sept. 6.

After graduating from Concordia College, Bliss Tungnung ’22 refused to play it safe and returned home to the Indian state of Manipur. Tungnung wanted to provide hope for children affected by the ethnic and religious violence happening in her community and opened Bliss International School in January.

The school currently supports 100 children who have been displaced and there are hundreds more on the waiting list.
