AFA NATIONALS RESULTS!!!

Well after a long recuperation period, the team is feeling great post-nationals. We had two quarterfinalists in Extemp Speaking including Emily Liddell and Brennan Jensen.

As a team, we placed 2nd in the nation in limited team sweeps.

Please help us give this hardworking team some love for an amazing season!

Concordia Speech and Debate is preparing for their National Tournament and is looking forward to sharing their performances and message campus-wide! These performances have already won several national awards this competitive season. Please join us in celebrating these students on March 22nd from 6-7pm in the BlackBox Theatre! This event is open to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the wider community. Help us celebrate these students before they bring home a national title!

Cobber Speech and Debate had the joy of visiting the Sheyenne High School Speech Team. Go kill the rest of the season Mustangs!

Oufta, cobbers are quite tired after hosting state, but boy did we get a lot done!

1. Cobbers took 2nd in Large Team Sweeps
2. Seniors Emily Liddell and Josh Kramer were both inducted into the MN All-State Team, the highest honor the state gives.
3. Cobber Speech and Debate now has the highest amount of participants on the All-State Team compared to any other MN school!
4. Former coach Cindy Larson-Casselton was awarded outstanding contributions to MN forensics by the MCFA committee.
5. Isaac Blashack is the 2nd MN representative to the Interstate Oratory Content in April. Isaac will be competing against the rest of the country in the 150th anniversary.
6. Brennan Jensen and Jonah Krogstad placed as semi-finalists in Parliamentary debate!

Can't wait to kick butt at nationals!

Cobber Speech competed in Eau Claire WI this weekend, the same place nationals will be held in less than 2 months! Lovefest had a great turnout with over 200 total entries! A very special tournament as this is the last regular season tournament for our two seniors Emily Liddell and Josh Kramer. Can't wait to turn around and kill it at MN State this weekend!

A huge congratulations to team member Brennan Jensen for qualifying multiple events for nationals. Brennan will be competing in Impromptu and Extemp at the AFA-NST 2024 national tournament. Help us congratulate Brennan and his self-selected picture 🤣

Cobber Speech and Debate traveled to the Icebox Classic in Saint Cloud last week. This pair (Brennan Jensen & Jonah Krogstad) has only competed together at two tournaments...and won both! Cobber debate is prepped and ready for state!

Cobber Speech celebrated Winter Wellness Weekend with team ice skating. While not everyone skated, everyone did have a fun time!

Cobbers had a great showing at VFL. Emily Liddell qualified Drama (on its first weekend out) for nationals. Isaac Blashack qualified Persuade for AFA! Concordia Speech and Debate can't wait to host VFL 1&2 on campus next fall!

We had such a joy this week visiting the speech team at New York Mills Minnesota and visiting alum Leah Roberts Veazie Can't wait to see ya'll do so well at your first tournament this weekend!

Speech Scholarships Concordia offers speech and debate scholarships ranging from $2,000 to $6,000 per year.

Cobber speech had a blast at Mankato Day 2! Events were won, playgrounds were visited, and COWS!!!!

Cobber Speech had a great first day of the Mankato Tournament, lots of national qualifications, lots of fun, and lots of Horchata! For the first time, Cobber Speech competed in Parliamentary Debate and had a blast. So happy to bring Cobber Speech AND Debate together again!
