MSUM's Art Department offers Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degrees.
The School of Art at Minnesota State University Moorhead is a dynamic artistic community of students, faculty, and staff. The department offers Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degrees in Studio Art, Art History and Art Education as well as certificates in Book Illustration, Portfolio Development, Scientific Illustration and Sequential Art.

MSUM is celebrating it's tenth year of it's Art-A-Fair! The event brings together students and teachers from the North Dakota and Minnesota area to celebrate the creation of art. The Art-A-Fair will be giving students the ability to participate in art sessions and an art show at the Rolland Dille Art Gallery on Feburary 2nd.

UPDATE: There was an error in our last post about summer classes. Art 345 fulfills the requirements for LASC 9 and a writing intensive. It does not require those as a prerequisite.

The printmaking workshop held last week by artist Laura Youngbird was a great success. The theme was Missing & Murdered Indigenous People (MMIP). If you want to learn more about the Fargo MMIP Task Force come a the panel discussion being held May 5th.

Two of our professors are putting on an exhibition at the Rourke Art Museum that Opens today! It features paintings by Zhimin Guan and pottery by Brad Bachmeier.
We are so excited to be hosting our 9th Art-A-Fair next Friday! The Student Exhibition is up and looks amazing. We are expecting a busy day with students from 25 different schools attending.
The first week of the spring semester is underway and with it a new gallery exhibition. The annual Art-A-Fair Exhibition is open. It features work from high schoolers in the Fargo/Moorhead area.
Check out this cool timelapse SoMad made of the mural we did for Churches United for the Homeless. The project was a major success! The 8’X30’ outdoor billboard mural was completed in only 3 days. Over 150 volunteers showed up to lend a hand including our College Dean, Kyja Kristjanssen-Nelson, and even President Anne along with members of her Executive Cabinet.

Our second, and last, BFA exhibit for the fall semester opens today! This exhibit features art from 8 of our seniors. The reception will be held on Thursday the 17th from 4:30 - 7:00pm
