Join us for an incredible, one-of-a-kind experience to protect and celebrate indigenous traditions from Palestine to North America
Chris Jadallah, UCLA Professor and Palestinian, is bringing watermelon seeds from Palestine to plant in our school’s garden. The watermelon has become an important symbol of Palestinian resistance against occupation and genocide.
We will be joined by people from our Native community - the indigenous people of this land - to share their knowledge and wisdom of growing food and taking care of land.
By growing Palestinian watermelons in our garden with the guidance and wisdom of our Native neighbors, we are honoring indigenous people globally and helping to ensure that their care of the land becomes part of who we are too.

Every year we at New Horizon Pasadena have an Eid Toy Drive. We ask our students and families to collect toys for children to be donated to Masjid Taqwa for Eid.
It teaches our kids generosity and kindness.
It’s a simple fact that generous people tend to be happier and have healthier relationships. Teaching kids to be giving at an early age paves the way for them to be successful at:
-Making friends
-Getting along with classmates, teammates, coworkers, and neighbors
-Giving back to their community
-Becoming responsible
In short, teaching your child a little generosity now can prepare them for a happier, healthier future in very real ways. It also enables them to bring a little more light and joy into the world throughout their life.
Our students are learning about Ramadan by various activities like reading, listening to stories, practicing their surahs, Arts and crafts and many more they are also collecting charity everyday for their sadqa boxes which teaches them kindness and generosity.
Please Participate in our Ramadan Campaign to support all the programs at the school for our children. This year we have partnered with KinderUSA and we will be giving 10% of our Ramadan donations for Palestine 🇵🇸
All donations are Zakat-eligible. Please click on the link in bio to donate now or make a donation on our website at https://newhorizonschool.org/support-nhsp/ramadan-giving/
