Siblings Keeper, in collaboration with the Glokennies Foundation, sponsored classroom furniture and educational materials for Ankaase Matamallam D/A Basic School in the Karachi District of the Oti Region, Ghana.

We strategically boosted the local economy by sourcing materials from a local wood shop and hiring local carpenters to build desks, providing the basic infrastructure needed to facilitate a decent teaching and learning environment. 📚✏️🪑

✨Etsi Sonkwaa Basic School Class of 2024✨

Six years later, it’s a privilege to witness the progress and support the Etsi Sonkwaa’s Basic School Class of 2024 junior high students as they celebrate their academic success with a trip to Kakum National Park and Cape Coast Castle. This journey is especially meaningful for me, as Cape Coast Castle is where I first met Chris, my partner and the inspiration behind the founding of Siblings Keeper, who introduced me to his village. It’s truly a full-circle experience.

I had the incredible privilege of partnering with my father for the first time to teach at a Christian church retreat. We spent the weekend with dozens of amazing teenagers, exploring how to navigate the digital world with a strong moral compass and spiritual armor. Our lessons and breakout sessions focused on applying the Ten Commandments and the Armor of God to stay faithful, engage positively with technology, and maintain personal integrity.

As part of my doctoral research on online safety and digital wellness, I experimented with focus groups, dividing the students into smaller groups by gender and school level. The insights were eye-opening! We used anonymous questionnaires to spark deep conversations and discovered so many similarities and unique perspectives among the students.

This experience not only enhanced student engagement but also helped us connect on a deeper level. It was truly a weekend of learning and growth for everyone involved. 🙌✨

Siblings Keeper was honored to participate in the historic World Summit on Women and Girls, organized by the Justina Mutale Foundation for Leadership in collaboration with Hands Across Philadelphia Inc. The event was held in the Mayor's Press Room of Philadelphia's City Hall. The keynote address was by Mauritius's First Female President H. E. Dr. Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, who has a PhD in organic chemistry and is a STEM advocate.

Sibling's Keeper spoke on the importance of addressing social development issues related to technology for youth. Our students also demonstrated coding to City, State and International Leaders by controlling a drone located in Australia by entering commands in Philadelphia. It was emotional watching students' family members react to their children performing advanced technical skills during our presentation, witness their children interfacing and becoming inspired by women leaders that have successfully created change all over the world, and observe a Channel 10 news reporter interview our student.

Another Siblings Keeper & CODE57 collaboration: FREE community clean water system installation ✅✅✅

Repost from OUR PARTNERS

On my previous visit to Ghana i had the privilege to visit Bimbilla in the Northern Region of Ghana, where I met with the King, his Kingsmen and the people in this town.

It was heart breaking to hear that such a community lacked so many basic necessities which meant the people in this town were at a disadvantage and couldn’t thrive to reach their best potential.

We assured the people of Bimbila that we would solve their water crisis and today we have delivered our word. There are so many other development thats we will establish in this very community to help the people .

Our greatest appreciation to our partner for making this happen and giving life to a whole community by providing free, clean and running water.

Students learned that airports utilize specialized Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting trucks, or ARFF trucks, that are designed to handle emergencies involving airplanes.

ARFF trucks are highly sophisticated simulated vehicles with the option for nozzles to be mounted on the exterior of the vehicle and on a boom which allows for fire suppressant attack from many angles, including in the air, on the ground, and far below grade.

Meet our Cameroon graduates🎓🇨🇲🎓and promoted students 📚📖

Doing what you can with what you have, wherever you are, is so important.

Doing what you can with what you have, wherever you are, is so important.

In 2019, LaToya Samuels-Wharton, our founder, traveled to Accra, Ghana to speak on a panel during the United Nations World Tourism: Regional Congress on Women Empowerment in the Tourism Sector - Focus on Africa. When she finished the panel and exited the stage, a woman approached her and expressed an urgent need to be heard. The claim was that she traveled to Ghana to make a plea for her people in Cameroon to the world leaders who were listed as honored guests of the UNWTO. As a result of war in Cameroon, so many people have been devastated. Families have been ripped apart, children abandoned, and corpses litter the roadsides. She struggled to support the large group of displaced children, many of whom cannot feed themselves or attend school. Her attempts to reach government leaders had failed, so she asked if Siblings Keeper could offer any assistance.

During the last 2.5 years, Siblings Keeper has provided financial assistance to Cameroon students in the form of school fees, meals, crafts materials, and farm maintenance costs. Though many of these young people have lived amidst tragedy and grief, we are happy and grateful to share that my Cameroon students are now graduating or being promoted to the next grade. The growth witnessed included students defending their thesis, qualifying for their HND (Higher National Diploma), and JHS promotions and toddlers moving from nursery to primary school.

We are very proud of each student’s achievements.
