As we celebrate SEALNet's 20th anniversary, we're overwhelmed with gratitude for everyone who has been part of this remarkable journey. From engaging workshops to our lively gala dinner, your participation has been THE heartbeat of our mission to reconnect and (re)envision a future for SEALNet.

To our dedicated volunteers, mentors, and participants: your energy has been everything we could ever ask for. Whether brainstorming at workshops, sharing meals, meeting new people at the reunion, or engaging with the young leaders at SEALNet Youth Leadership Summit 2024, your presence has breathed life into SEALNet’s goal: to serve as a network connecting Servant Leaders across borders, backgrounds, and generations so that they may influence and learn from each other.

Looking back on two decades, we see more than an organization; we see a family united by purpose; shared values; and a commitment to service leadership, to friendship and connection building, and to community development in Southeast Asia.

***Executive Director Announcement***

The Southeast Asian Service Leadership Network (SEALNet) is excited to announce Jack Lam as its inaugural Executive Director.

Jack’s background in leadership and interculturality will help to further advance the mission of the organization.

Jack is originally from Viet Nam. His SEALNet journey started in 2016 when he first joined SEALNet Project Cambodia 2016 in Phnom Penh as a mentee. Two years later, he volunteered as the project mentor at SEALNet Project Indonesia 2018. Jack then served as the Project Co-leader at SEALNet Project Vietnam 2019 in Hanoi. Since 2020, Jack has been leading the local SEALNet Vietnam Club in Ho Chi Minh City. Coming to serve as the Executive Director of SEALNet in 2024, he wishes to give back to SEALNet through continuing engagements with the young student leaders in the region; SEALNet’s vast alumni network, global partners, and donors; and, the Southeast Asian local communities. Jack graduated from Fulbright University Vietnam with a major in Economics and a minor in History.

Jack’s background in leadership and interculturality will help to further advance the mission of the organization. We’re excited to have Jack on board in a formal role. He’s committed to SEALNet and is gifted in building relationships.

SEALNet is currently preparing for two large events at the end of the month: the 20th Anniversary Alumni Reunion and the first Youth Leadership Summit since COVID-19. Jack has already started onboarding as the first Executive Director while he's driving the reunion.

The Executive Director will manage all day-to-day operations of SEALNet, lead fundraising programs, and manage community engagement initiatives.

✨ IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ✨

In the next few days, PC21 will become an independent online information page instead of a SEALNet summer project.

We wish to extend our gratitude to the PC21 team for taking time and effort to complete the application and selection process. It is truly unfortunate that we will not be seeing this project with the SEALNet mentor-mentee model and service outreach component. Nonetheless, we understand the team's decision and we shall continue to support them from the sidelines. 🙆‍♀️

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ✨

SEALNet Project Cambodia 2021: Social Skills for the Future had made the official decision to transition from an Official SEALNet Summer Project to an independent Online Information Page “𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞” which will be changed in a few days. We made this transition to adapt to the New Normal, demand for social advocacy, and align with the team’s availability.

The 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 page aims to promote social and emotional learning (SEL) through social media content sharing.

The transition from a traditional SEALNet Summer Project to an independent Online Information Page would also change our core activities. For instance, the Mentor & Mentee training and Service Delivery Project will be replaced by our teams generating and sharing content related to SEL knowledge, skills, and experience.

We thank you, everyone, for continuing to support us and, as our organizing team members, are looking forward to bringing you some sharing content in the future.

"SEALNet Project Cambodia Special Initiative 21" or "SEALNet PC SI 21" is a special shorter version of SEALNet project with only 3-week period implementation. The main theme of the project this year is “Social Emotional Learning or SEL” with the topic of “Social Skills for the Future”.

This project is created with a special initiative aiming to raise awareness of “SEL” within young adults. Our target is young adult from 18-20 years old, specifically fresh high school graduate.
