Recently the CFGALA received a grant from the New Hanover County Community Foundation, an affiliate of for $5,000; to help kids, be kids. This grant money will be used to get kids into summer camps, on field trips, start dance and music lessons, play community sports and so much more!

Kids in care of the Department of Health and Human Services due to abuse or neglect rarely get to just be kids. The CFGALA is committed to providing as many opportunities for our community’s kiddos as we can.

If you’re looking for ways to help, check out our website, or consider becoming a Guardian ad Litem Volunteer, today. 🩵💙🖤

We are appreciative for our local hero's as well. We couldn't do this work without them!

Great story that warmed our hearts and we hope will warm yours:

Last week was spirit week for this little girl whose mother serves as a Guardian ad Litem volunteer with Guardian ad Litem Program - Harnett, Johnston, & Lee Counties. One of the days was Hero Day, where children were instructed to dress up like their Hero. The little girl asked if she could dress up like her mother and wear her mother’s GAL badge because she was a hero for being a GAL.

🎖Thanks for being a Hero in our program and at home mom!
