Milestones Early Learning Kalamunda

Today as part of our winter program, the kindy children were invited to paint a sparkly, snowy image using white paint onto dark blue paper, then sprinkled blue glitter into the wet paint. We then read our Frozen book together, pointing out the similarities between the snow and ice in the book and our paintings!

We heard the sounds of some amazing music being made from our Toddler friends this morning! Miss Jo bought our musical instruments outside and our two little friends decided to form their own band and made some great tunes!

Our kindy children practised their cutting skills today using donated magazines from our families. The children cut out their favourite pictures, practising their scissor grip and fine motor skills while doing so.

Today as part of our winter program the nursery experienced some sensory “snow” exploration. We had such fun squishing, swishing and scooping it around with our hands. What a great experience to develop sensory awareness while having some serious fun! ❄️

To end our NAIDOC Week celebrations, our little friends did some cooking! Our toddlers made some delicious lemon myrtle cake while our kindy made their own cookies.

When it was time to ice their cookies, our kindy friends each chose a different indigenous symbol to pipe onto their cookie!

Our toddlers engaged in one of our new areas in our new yard today and created their very own “camp fire!” With the help of Miss Jo, we all gathered some sticks and put them into the fire pit, watching as our fire began to burn.

We were so lucky to roast some marshmallows over our fire 🔥, singing some songs and enjoying the company of our friends in our new space.

What an amazing opportunity to meet Neville and learn more about the Indigenous culture. Book tickets and meet Grace there this Friday!

Come join us at Zig Zag Gallery for Woven Stories, a beautiful exhibition featuring totems and dolls created by our community.

The unique pieces have been created through a series of workshops exploring traditional weaving and binding techniques.

What great sensory activities for our little friends this morning, focusing on celebrating NAIDOC Week and exploring the different colours of the Aboriginal flag.

Our kindy fort was delivered today!

Commencing our week celebrating NAIDOC Week at Milestones as per our program, with our pre toddlers participating in some sensory experiences and our toddler friends creating their room mobiles using their boomerangs, snakes and didgeridoos they decorated on Reconciliation Week.

The Pyjama Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation that supports the educational outcomes of children living in out-of-home care.

By wearing our pyjamas on July 21st, we will help raise funds and spread awareness about the importance of supporting foster children. Join in our planned in-centre activities to support our mission to help change lives and make dreams a reality! ✨

While our new Toddler yard was being renovated our toddlers were sharing the Kindy space. Our little friends were so interested in our flower chalk boards so today, Miss Jo found some of their very own chalk boards to draw with.

Our little learners were so engaged in this experience and created some amazing artwork!

We had some very exciting crane action happening in our Kindy yard today. All of our friends flocked to the fence to watch as some our new, heavier equipment was air lifted in!

Our friends enjoyed some ice block painting today as part of their winter program. Here is our little friend from Nursery who particularly enjoyed using the colourful ice cube to move around the paper, creating a beautiful print. We also had a sneaky taste!

Our friends had so much fun today as apart of their winter program activity. Together, we found recyclable materials within our service and created our very own versions of snowmen!

Our community pantry has been replenished today and we are jam packed with bread and some great veg!

As always, our bottomless fruit bowl is choc full of apples and pears for our little friends to help themselves to after a long day of learning and fun.

Today, as part of our winter program we had our winter sensory play experience. Our little friends made their own snow, exploring the cool touch and texture of it by mixing and squishing it with their hands.

All you need to do is go into the Storypark app and press the ‘Me’ icon on the bottom right of your screen.
Inside your profile, you will notice the new function ‘Bookings & Billings’ or ‘Manage booking and billings’.
When clicked you will automatically be taken to your Storypark Manage account, where you can book your casual days.

School holidays are approaching fast! If you require care for your little one during this time, we have spaces available!

As part of our winter program our Kindy friends had the opportunity to make their own snow! Mixing, squishing and rolling the mixture with their hands, they were all so excited to take turns with their snow.

We asked our little learners what they would like to add to their snow and some answers were; animals, glitter, spoons!
